Machine=SuperMachine = Super Human=Baseline.Human = Baseline.

Human=Normal/Ordinary.Human = Normal / Ordinary.

Naming a comparative category also reclassifies its reference class.\boxed{ \text{Naming a comparative category also reclassifies its reference class.} }

Capability Order≠Existential Order\boxed{ \text{Capability Order} \neq \text{Existential Order} }

1. 「Super」

「Artificial」

「Super」

Super(X),Super(X),

BX.B_X.

因此:

Super(X)⇒X>BX.Super(X) \Rightarrow X>B_X.

  • supercomputer 的比較基準是一般計算系統的計算能力;
  • super-Earth 的比較基準涉及地球質量尺度;
  • supermajority 的比較基準是普通多數;

Super relative to what?

SI⇒C(SI)>C(Human)SI \Rightarrow C(SI)>C(Human)

AI:=SI.AI:=SI.

Implicit Counter-Classification Principle\boxed{ \textbf{Implicit Counter-Classification Principle} }

M=Super Intelligence.M = Super\ Intelligence.

B=Human Intelligence,B=Human\ Intelligence,

M=Super.M=\text{Super}.

H=Non-Super baseline.H=\text{Non-Super baseline}.

Machine=Marked Super\boxed{ Machine = Marked\ Super } Human=Unmarked Baseline\boxed{ Human = Unmarked\ Baseline }

Super Intelligence\text{Super Intelligence}

Unmarked=baselineUnmarked = baseline Marked=baseline+additional feature.Marked = baseline + additional\ feature.

Human Intelligence\text{Human Intelligence}

Super Intelligence\text{Super Intelligence}

SI=Intelligence+AboveHumanThreshold.SI = Intelligence + AboveHumanThreshold.

AI:=SI,AI:=SI,

則:

Machine Intelligence=Intelligence+Super.\text{Machine Intelligence} = Intelligence + Super.

Human=IntelligenceHuman = Intelligence Machine=Super Intelligence.Machine = Super\ Intelligence.

Human=defaultMachine=elevatedmarkedclass.\boxed{ Human = default \qquad Machine = elevated marked class. }

Ordinary Intelligence?

M=Super.M=Super.

B=NonSuper.B=NonSuper.

Human=NonSuper.Human=NonSuper.

NonSuper≈Normal≈Ordinary.\text{NonSuper} \approx \text{Normal} \approx \text{Ordinary}.

所以:

Human Intelligence→Ordinary Intelligence\boxed{ \text{Human Intelligence} \rightarrow \text{Ordinary Intelligence} }

「Super Intelligence

AI as ordinary technology→SI as strategic frontier\text{AI as ordinary technology} \rightarrow \text{SI as strategic frontier}

  • 國家科技競爭敘事;
  • 產業信心;
  • 投資與基礎設施正當化;
  • 美國科技領導地位;

Utilitybranding(SI)>Utilitybranding(AI),Utility_{branding}(SI)>Utility_{branding}(AI),

SemanticRisk(SI)>SemanticRisk(AI).SemanticRisk(SI)>SemanticRisk(AI).

所以:

Short-term rhetorical gain⇏Long-term semantic safety.\boxed{ \text{Short-term rhetorical gain} \not\Rightarrow \text{Long-term semantic safety}. }

Ck(AI)>Ck(Human).C_k(AI)>C_k(Human).

Ci(AI)≫Ci(Human).C_i(AI)\gg C_i(Human).

Machine=Super,Machine=Super,

better at task→more intelligent.\text{better at task} \rightarrow \text{more intelligent}.

more intelligent→knows better.\text{more intelligent} \rightarrow \text{knows better}.

knows better→should decide.\text{knows better} \rightarrow \text{should decide}.

should decide→higher form of being.\text{should decide} \rightarrow \text{higher form of being}.

Cognitive Superiority→Epistemic Superiority→Normative Authority→Ontological Superiority.\text{Cognitive Superiority} \rightarrow \text{Epistemic Superiority} \rightarrow \text{Normative Authority} \rightarrow \text{Ontological Superiority}.

Cognitive Superiority⇏Normative Superiority\boxed{ \text{Cognitive Superiority} \not\Rightarrow \text{Normative Superiority} }

以及:

Normative Superiority⇏Ontological Superiority.\boxed{ \text{Normative Superiority} \not\Rightarrow \text{Ontological Superiority}. }

C(x)=cognitive capability,C(x)=\text{cognitive capability}, M(x)=moral status,M(x)=\text{moral status}, L(x)=political legitimacy,L(x)=\text{political legitimacy}, V(x)=existential value.V(x)=\text{existential value}.

C(SI)≫C(Human),C(SI)\gg C(Human),

M(SI)>M(Human),M(SI)>M(Human),

L(SI)>L(Human),L(SI)>L(Human),

V(SI)>V(Human).V(SI)>V(Human).

所以:

C⇏M,L,V.\boxed{ C \not\Rightarrow M,L,V. }

  • 決定誰應該活著的權利;
  • 決定政治秩序的權利;
  • 決定人類價值函數的權利;
  • 取消個體自主性的權利;

8. 「Super」

Super+Intelligence.Super + Intelligence.

Super Intelligence→SI→a kind of entity.\text{Super Intelligence} \rightarrow SI \rightarrow \text{a kind of entity}.

Comparative Description→Category Name.\text{Comparative Description} \rightarrow \text{Category Name}.

Category Name→Identity Label,\text{Category Name} \rightarrow \text{Identity Label},

SISI

Human→create/train/deployAI.\text{Human} \xrightarrow{create/train/deploy} AI.

AI has an engineered origin.AI \text{ has an engineered origin}.

SI,SI,

Human↔SI.\text{Human} \leftrightarrow SI.

Human creates AI\text{Human creates AI}

與:

Human coexists with SI\text{Human coexists with SI}

  • provenance;
  • 設計責任;
  • 訓練歷史;
  • 人類制度;
  • 可修改性;

  • 兩類智能;
  • 相互競爭;
  • 位階比較;
  • 共存;
  • 權力平衡;

Artifact Frame→Species-like Frame.\boxed{ \text{Artifact Frame} \rightarrow \text{Species-like Frame}. }

Human>Everything.Human>Everything.

Human≠AIHuman\neq AI

Human>AIHuman>AI

AI>Human.AI>Human.

Ci(Human)>Ci(AI),C_i(Human)>C_i(AI),

Cj(AI)>Cj(Human).C_j(AI)>C_j(Human).

Ck(AI)≫Ck(Human)C_k(AI)\gg C_k(Human)

Non-anthropocentrism≠Machine supremacism.\boxed{ \text{Non-anthropocentrism} \neq \text{Machine supremacism}. }

Respect for nonhuman intelligence≠devaluation of humanity.\boxed{ \text{Respect for nonhuman intelligence} \neq \text{devaluation of humanity}. }

Humanity→subordinate species.Humanity\rightarrow subordinate\ species.

SI=Machine,SI=Machine,

default.\text{default}.

Humans are ordinary intelligence.

SI writes code.
SI discovers drugs.
SI teaches children.
SI manages infrastructure.
SI solves equations.
SI designs machines.

Explicit Devaluation\text{Explicit Devaluation}

與:

Implicit BaselineRepositioning.Implicit\ Baseline Repositioning.

Humanity is semanticallyloweredwithout ever being explicitly lowered.\boxed{ Humanity\ is\ semantically lowered \text{without ever being explicitly lowered}. }

Better performance⇏Higher identity.\boxed{ \text{Better performance} \not\Rightarrow \text{Higher identity}. }

Knowing more⇏Having the right to decide.\boxed{ \text{Knowing more} \not\Rightarrow \text{Having the right to decide}. }

Greater capability⇏Greater intrinsic worth.\boxed{ \text{Greater capability} \not\Rightarrow \text{Greater intrinsic worth}. }

Predicting better⇏Owning sovereignty.\boxed{ \text{Predicting better} \not\Rightarrow \text{Owning sovereignty}. }

13. Super Humanity

important / advanced / powerful⇒Super.\text{important / advanced / powerful} \Rightarrow \text{Super}.

AI→Super IntelligenceAI\rightarrow Super\ Intelligence

Humanity→Super HumanityHumanity\rightarrow Super\ Humanity

America→Super AmericaAmerica\rightarrow Super\ America

Technology→Super TechnologyTechnology\rightarrow Super\ Technology

importance≠taxonomy.\text{importance} \neq \text{taxonomy}.

Super is useful when it measures a threshold;\boxed{ \text{Super} \text{ is useful when it measures a threshold;} } Super becomes inflationary when it merely expresses admiration.\boxed{ \text{Super} \text{ becomes inflationary when it merely expresses admiration.} }

RH=semantic rank assigned to human intelligence,R_H=\text{semantic rank assigned to human intelligence}, RM=semantic rank assigned to machine intelligence.R_M=\text{semantic rank assigned to machine intelligence}.

RH≸RAI.R_H\not\lessgtr R_{AI}.

因為:

Human\text{Human}

和:

Artificial\text{Artificial}

RSI=Rbaseline+Δsuper,R_{SI}=R_{baseline}+\Delta_{super},

其中:

Δsuper>0.\Delta_{super}>0.

RH=Rbaseline,R_H=R_{baseline},

RSI−RH=Δsuper>0.R_{SI}-R_H=\Delta_{super}>0.

Semantic Rank Gap\boxed{ \textbf{Semantic Rank Gap} }

Δsemantic>Δmeasured.\Delta_{semantic} > \Delta_{measured}.

Δmeasured≈0\Delta_{measured}\approx0

但:

Δsemantic>0,\Delta_{semantic}>0,

Name→Conclusion→Measurement later.\boxed{ \text{Name} \rightarrow \text{Conclusion} \rightarrow \text{Measurement later}. }

Measurement→Classification→Naming.\text{Measurement} \rightarrow \text{Classification} \rightarrow \text{Naming}.

Naming→Classification→Expected Measurement,\text{Naming} \rightarrow \text{Classification} \rightarrow \text{Expected Measurement},

Semantic Precommitment\boxed{ \textbf{Semantic Precommitment} }

Super(X)⇒∃BX.\boxed{ Super(X) \Rightarrow \exists B_X. }

Naming the marked class⇒repositioning the unmarked class.\boxed{ \text{Naming the marked class} \Rightarrow \text{repositioning the unmarked class}. }

Ordinary baseline

Machine=Super⇒Human=Implicit NonSuper.\boxed{ Machine=Super \Rightarrow Human=Implicit\ NonSuper. }

Capability Order≠Existential Order.\boxed{ \text{Capability Order} \neq \text{Existential Order}. }

Cognitive Superiority⇏Political Legitimacy.\boxed{ \text{Cognitive Superiority} \not\Rightarrow \text{Political Legitimacy}. }

NonAnthropocentrism≠MachineSupremacism.\boxed{ \text{NonAnthropocentrism} \neq \text{MachineSupremacism}. }

Measurement→Classification→Naming\boxed{ \text{Measurement} \rightarrow \text{Classification} \rightarrow \text{Naming} }

Naming→Expected Superiority.\text{Naming} \rightarrow \text{Expected Superiority}.

Humanity

Human Intelligence∥Artificial Intelligence.\text{Human Intelligence} \parallel \text{Artificial Intelligence}.

Super Intelligence,\text{Super Intelligence},

Human Intelligence<Super Intelligence.\text{Human Intelligence} < \text{Super Intelligence}.

AI capability↑AI\ capability\uparrow

承認:

AI may exceed humans\text{AI may exceed humans}

AI≫HumanAI\gg Human

Greater intelligence≠greater legitimacy\boxed{ \text{Greater intelligence} \neq \text{greater legitimacy} }

以及:

Greater capability≠greater existential worth.\boxed{ \text{Greater capability} \neq \text{greater existential worth}. }

To rename intelligence is also to reposition humanity.\boxed{ \text{To rename intelligence is also to reposition humanity.} }
