今天看起來很嚴肅的拒斥,未來可能也會變成歷史照片。\boxed{ \text{今天看起來很嚴肅的拒斥,} \quad \text{未來可能也會變成歷史照片。} }

為什麼不同年代的新工具,總會觸發如此相似的數學身份問題?\boxed{ \text{為什麼不同年代的新工具,} \quad \text{總會觸發如此相似的數學身份問題?} }

National Council of Teachers of Mathematics

Mathematics→unanimously rejects calculator.\boxed{ \text{Mathematics} \rightarrow \text{unanimously rejects calculator}. }

New Tool→Internal Debate over what skills must remain human.\boxed{ \text{New Tool} \rightarrow \text{Internal Debate over what skills must remain human}. }

Automation of Skill S⇒?Loss of Human Capacity S.\boxed{ \text{Automation of Skill }S \stackrel{?}{\Rightarrow} \text{Loss of Human Capacity }S. }

Tool gets the result→What happens to the capability built by getting the result oneself?\boxed{ \text{Tool gets the result} \rightarrow \text{What happens to the capability built by getting the result oneself?} }

Arithmetic Execution.\text{Arithmetic Execution}.

Representation+Search+Reasoning+Proof+Explanation.\text{Representation} + \text{Search} + \text{Reasoning} + \text{Proof} + \text{Explanation}.

If no human can directly inspect every step,what does it mean to know that a theorem is proved?\boxed{ \text{If no human can directly inspect every step,} \quad \text{what does it mean to know that a theorem is proved?} }

  • 電腦計算不透明;
  • 人類不能直接驗證所有 case;
  • 這種 proof 缺乏傳統數學理解;

Computer-Assisted Proof→Independent Checking→Better Formal Infrastructure.\boxed{ \text{Computer-Assisted Proof} \rightarrow \text{Independent Checking} \rightarrow \text{Better Formal Infrastructure}. }

  • proof assistants;
  • formal proof;
  • certified computation;
  • proof engineering。

所以:

Criticism⇏Obstruction.\boxed{ \text{Criticism} \not\Rightarrow \text{Obstruction}. }

Criticism→Better Tool Assimilation.\boxed{ \text{Criticism} \rightarrow \text{Better Tool Assimilation}. }

Mathematical Tool Assimilation Cycle

MTAC.MTAC.

S0→T→D→I→R\boxed{ S_0 \rightarrow T \rightarrow D \rightarrow I \rightarrow R }

其中:

  • S0S_0:某種能力原本被視為核心人類技能;
  • TT:新工具開始自動化它;
  • DD:出現 identity / degradation debate;
  • II:制度逐漸吸收工具;

Mathematical Skill→Mathematician Identity.\boxed{ \text{Mathematical Skill} \rightarrow \text{Mathematician Identity}. }

例如:

  • 手算;
  • symbolic manipulation;
  • case checking;
  • proof search;
  • theorem proving。

Low-status mechanical work.\text{Low-status mechanical work}.

High-status intellectual work,\text{High-status intellectual work},

If the tool does X,humans will stop learning X.\boxed{ \text{If the tool does }X, \quad \text{humans will stop learning }X. }

部分成立,然後教育目標重新調整。\boxed{ \text{部分成立,然後教育目標重新調整。} }

ToolMediated(M)∈?Mathematics.\boxed{ ToolMediated(M) \stackrel{?}{\in} \text{Mathematics}. }

External Tool→Accepted Infrastructure.\boxed{ \text{External Tool} \rightarrow \text{Accepted Infrastructure}. }

例如:

  • calculators;
  • symbolic computation;
  • computer-assisted proof;
  • proof assistants。

Higher-Level Capability.\boxed{ \text{Higher-Level Capability}. }

  • modeling;
  • structure;
  • interpretation。

proof checking 便宜後,

更重:

  • problem choice;
  • representation;
  • theory construction;
  • meaning。

Automation of Sn→Human value shifts toward Sn+1.\boxed{ \text{Automation of }S_n \rightarrow \text{Human value shifts toward }S_{n+1}. }

Automation→End of Mathematics.\boxed{ \text{Automation} \rightarrow \text{End of Mathematics}. }

Past Tool Critique was partly absorbed\text{Past Tool Critique was partly absorbed}

Current AI Critique is false.\text{Current AI Critique is false}.

Historical Similarity≠Historical Identity.\boxed{ \text{Historical Similarity} \neq \text{Historical Identity}. }

Execute.\text{Execute}.

Compute+Check.Compute+Check.

AI 則開始:

Generate+Represent+Search+Prove+Explain+Select.\boxed{ \text{Generate} + \text{Represent} + \text{Search} + \text{Prove} + \text{Explain} + \text{Select}. }

ScopeAI≫Scopecalculator.Scope_{AI} \gg Scope_{calculator}.

Research Agency

  • 哪個問題值得試;
  • 哪個表示更有效;
  • 哪條 proof route 有希望;
  • 哪個 lemma 應先建立;

AI≠Calculator 2.0.\boxed{ AI \neq Calculator\ 2.0. }

HumanQueryRate\text{HumanQueryRate}

限制。

Agentic AI 可以:

Generate at machine-scale.\boxed{ \text{Generate at machine-scale.} }

  • proof flood;
  • theorem flood;
  • certificate flood;
  • explanation flood。

  • proof volume 可能超過 human review;
  • attribution 可能變難;
  • AI-native workflow 可能擴大認知距離;

把「這個能力曾經由人完成」誤認為「這個能力必須永遠由人直接完成」。\boxed{ \text{把「這個能力曾經由人完成」} \quad \text{誤認為「這個能力必須永遠由人直接完成」。} }

Question Formation\boxed{ \text{Question Formation} } Representation Design\boxed{ \text{Representation Design} } Theory Building\boxed{ \text{Theory Building} } Semantic Judgment\boxed{ \text{Semantic Judgment} } Cross-Domain Synthesis\boxed{ \text{Cross-Domain Synthesis} } Transmission Architecture\boxed{ \text{Transmission Architecture} }

read all dependencies,\text{read all dependencies},

Understanding≠Single-Mind Total Replay.\boxed{ \text{Understanding} \neq \text{Single-Mind Total Replay}. }

Distributed Understanding+Task-Sufficient Understanding+Reconstructable Understanding.\boxed{ \text{Distributed Understanding} + \text{Task-Sufficient Understanding} + \text{Reconstructable Understanding}. }

Human→Replay all machine steps.\text{Human} \rightarrow \text{Replay all machine steps}.

Trusted Verification Architecture.\boxed{ \text{Trusted Verification Architecture}. }

ProofVerification.\text{ProofVerification}.

SemanticVerification+IntentAlignment+Projection+Provenance+HumanReentry.\boxed{ \text{SemanticVerification} + \text{IntentAlignment} + \text{Projection} + \text{Provenance} + \text{HumanReentry}. }

Tool Capability+New Norms+New Verification+New Education.\boxed{ \text{Tool Capability} + \text{New Norms} + \text{New Verification} + \text{New Education}. }

Tool Use+Foundational Competence.\boxed{ \text{Tool Use} + \text{Foundational Competence}. }

Independent Verification+Formal Checking+Proof Engineering.\boxed{ \text{Independent Verification} + \text{Formal Checking} + \text{Proof Engineering}. }

  • provenance;
  • attribution;
  • formal / semantic distinction;
  • understanding projection;
  • human re-entry;
  • certificate stopping conditions;
  • generativity evaluation。

Next-Generation Mathematical Infrastructure.\boxed{ \text{Next-Generation Mathematical Infrastructure}. }

Permanent Human-Only Boundary.\boxed{ \text{Permanent Human-Only Boundary}. }

Tool Rejection

與:

Tool Governance

前者:

Keep tool outside mathematics.\text{Keep tool outside mathematics}.

後者:

Integrate tool while controlling failure modes.\text{Integrate tool while controlling failure modes}.

Be careful not to mistake a changing skill boundary for the death of mathematics.\boxed{ \text{Be careful not to mistake a changing skill boundary for the death of mathematics.} }

t=2066.t=2066.

t=2026.t=2026.

Future Judgment=Unknown.\boxed{ \text{Future Judgment=Unknown.} }

Recurring Failure Modes.\boxed{ \text{Recurring Failure Modes}. }

例如:

  • 把工具能力進步誤解為學科死亡;
  • 把有效風險誤解為拒絕工具的理由;
  • 把舊技能身份化;

Accept AI completely\boxed{ \text{Accept AI completely} }

對:

Reject AI completely.\boxed{ \text{Reject AI completely}. }

而是:

Assimilate Capability+Redesign Institutions.\boxed{ \text{Assimilate Capability} + \text{Redesign Institutions}. }

  • truth seeking;
  • reconstructability;
  • generativity;
  • understanding;
  • criticism;
  • transmission。

  • 紙筆;
  • 計算器;
  • computer;
  • proof assistant;
  • AI;

Carrier Change≠Value Loss.\boxed{ \text{Carrier Change} \neq \text{Value Loss}. }

Truth,Understanding,Generativity,Transmission.\boxed{ \text{Truth}, \text{Understanding}, \text{Generativity}, \text{Transmission}. }

ProofGeneration↓ in cost,ProofGeneration\downarrow\text{ in cost},

Why this problem?\boxed{ \text{Why this problem?} } Why this representation?\boxed{ \text{Why this representation?} } What does this structure mean?\boxed{ \text{What does this structure mean?} } What should come next?\boxed{ \text{What should come next?} }

Truth-preserving infrastructure.\boxed{ \text{Truth-preserving infrastructure}. }

只是:

Proof≠the totality of mathematical value.\boxed{ \text{Proof} \neq \text{the totality of mathematical value}. }

Whenever a tool automates a previously scarce mathematical capability,\boxed{ \text{Whenever a tool automates a previously scarce mathematical capability,} } mathematics enters a period of identity renegotiation.\boxed{ \text{mathematics enters a period of identity renegotiation.} }

即:

Mathematical Capability Reclassification

History spirals.\boxed{ \text{History spirals}. }

  • 工具更強;
  • 制度不同;
  • 規模更大;

Calculation→Verification→Generation.\boxed{ \text{Calculation} \rightarrow \text{Verification} \rightarrow \text{Generation}. }

force mathematics to move its human frontier upward.\boxed{ \text{force mathematics to move its human frontier upward}. }

Question+Meaning+Selection+Transmission.\boxed{ \text{Question} + \text{Meaning} + \text{Selection} + \text{Transmission}. }

我們應承認自己也可能把暫時性的工作方式,誤認為數學永恆的本質。\boxed{ \text{我們應承認自己也可能把暫時性的工作方式,} \quad \text{誤認為數學永恆的本質。} }

ScopeAIScope_{AI}

Historical Openness+Present Risk Analysis\boxed{ \text{Historical Openness} + \text{Present Risk Analysis} }

Do not freeze the old boundary;do not ignore the new risks.\boxed{ \text{Do not freeze the old boundary;} \quad \text{do not ignore the new risks.} }

部分會。\boxed{ \text{部分會。} }

每當新工具自動化一種原本稀缺的人類數學能力,數學都必須重新談判自己的能力邊界。\boxed{ \text{每當新工具自動化一種原本稀缺的人類數學能力,} \quad \text{數學都必須重新談判自己的能力邊界。} }

New Tool Always Wins.\boxed{ \text{New Tool Always Wins}. }

Old Skills Must Be Protected Forever.\boxed{ \text{Old Skills Must Be Protected Forever}. }

而是:

Tool Capability+Valid Criticism+Institutional Redesign→New Mathematical Equilibrium.\boxed{ \text{Tool Capability} + \text{Valid Criticism} + \text{Institutional Redesign} \rightarrow \text{New Mathematical Equilibrium}. }

當昨天稀缺的能力今天不再稀缺時,數學文明下一步究竟應該把什麼視為真正珍貴的能力?\boxed{ \text{當昨天稀缺的能力今天不再稀缺時,} \quad \text{數學文明下一步究竟應該把什麼視為真正珍貴的能力?} }

問得更好、理解得更深、建構得更廣、也讓更多後來者真正有路可以進來。\boxed{ \text{問得更好、} \quad \text{理解得更深、} \quad \text{建構得更廣、} \quad \text{也讓更多後來者真正有路可以進來。} }
