Dijk(t)=FD(Hi,Aj,Rij,k(t),Ci(t),Alti(t),Li(t))\boxed{ \mathbf D_{ijk}(t) = \mathcal F_D( H_i, A_j, R_{ij,k}(t), C_i(t), Alt_i(t), L_i(t) ) }

E[D∣G]≠DHi.\boxed{ E[\mathbf D\mid G] \neq \mathbf D_{H_i}. }

Group Difference≠Individual Destiny.\boxed{ \text{Group Difference} \neq \text{Individual Destiny}. }

Dependency is relation-specific unless cross-relation stability is demonstrated.\boxed{ \text{Dependency is relation-specific unless cross-relation stability is demonstrated.} }

關鍵詞: Human–AI Dependency;Heterogeneity;AI Companion;Relation-Specific Dependency;Group Differences;Individual Differences;Loneliness;Social Support;Culture;Adolescence;Older Adults;Counterfactual Alternatives;Hierarchical Modeling

Paper 01 指出:

AI Emotional Dependence\text{AI Emotional Dependence}

Paper 03

DH=(Daff,Datt,Dreg,Drel,Dcog,Dmem,Did,Dagency,Dexist,Dinfra).\mathbf D_H = ( D_{\mathrm{aff}}, D_{\mathrm{att}}, D_{\mathrm{reg}}, D_{\mathrm{rel}}, D_{\mathrm{cog}}, D_{\mathrm{mem}}, D_{\mathrm{id}}, D_{\mathrm{agency}}, D_{\mathrm{exist}}, D_{\mathrm{infra}} ).

  1. 某一群體天生更容易依賴 AI;
  2. 年輕人、中老年人、孤獨者、東亞文化使用者或任何其他群體可以由單一特徵直接預測;
  3. 群體平均值可以直接推論群體中的個人;
  4. AI 對「脆弱族群」必然有害;
  5. AI 對缺乏人類支持的人必然有益;
  6. 孤獨必然導致 AI companionship;
  7. AI companionship 必然導致孤獨;
  8. 文化差異等同固定文化本質;
  9. 現有橫斷面研究可以決定長期因果方向;

D is conditional, relational, and heterogeneous.\boxed{ \mathbf D \text{ is conditional, relational, and heterogeneous.} }

D=f(H).\mathbf D = f(H).

Dijk(t)=FD(Hi,Aj,Rij,k(t),Ci(t),Alti(t),Li(t)).\boxed{ \mathbf D_{ijk}(t) = \mathcal F_D( H_i, A_j, R_{ij,k}(t), C_i(t), Alt_i(t), L_i(t) ). }

其中:

  • HiH_i:human characteristics;
  • AjA_j:AI system characteristics;
  • Rij,k(t)R_{ij,k}(t):relation-specific state;
  • Ci(t)C_i(t):current context;
  • Alti(t)Alt_i(t):available alternatives;
  • Li(t)L_i(t):life-course position。

Hbetween group.H_{\mathrm{between\ group}}.

  • 年齡;
  • 世代;
  • 文化背景;
  • 社會支持條件;
  • 職業;
  • 教育;
  • 經濟條件;

Hwithin group.H_{\mathrm{within\ group}}.

Var(D∣G)Var( \mathbf D \mid G )

Hbetween person.H_{\mathrm{between\ person}}.

  • 過去關係史;
  • 價值;
  • AI 使用目的;
  • 人格;
  • 技術熟悉度;
  • 社交網絡;
  • 生命事件;

Hwithin person, relation.H_{\mathrm{within\ person,\ relation}}.

D(Hi,A1)≠D(Hi,A2).\mathbf D(H_i,A_1) \neq \mathbf D(H_i,A_2).

D(Hi,Aj,Rwork)≠D(Hi,Aj,Rcompanion).\mathbf D(H_i,A_j,R_{\mathrm{work}}) \neq \mathbf D(H_i,A_j,R_{\mathrm{companion}}).

Hwithin person, time.H_{\mathrm{within\ person,\ time}}.

D(t1)≠D(t2).\mathbf D(t_1) \neq \mathbf D(t_2).

E[Datt∣G1]>E[Datt∣G2].E[D_{\mathrm{att}}\mid G_1] > E[D_{\mathrm{att}}\mid G_2].

Datt(Hi∈G1)>Datt(Hj∈G2)D_{\mathrm{att}}(H_i\in G_1) > D_{\mathrm{att}}(H_j\in G_2)

E[D∣G]≠DHi.\boxed{ E[\mathbf D\mid G] \neq \mathbf D_{H_i}. }

p(D∣G).p( \mathbf D \mid G ).

  • mean;
  • variance;
  • covariance;
  • skewness;
  • multimodality;
  • overlap;
  • tail risk;
  • time dependence。

Overlap(G1,G2)≫0.Overlap(G_1,G_2)\gg0.

A1=work assistant,A_1 = \text{work assistant}, A2=creative collaborator,A_2 = \text{creative collaborator}, A3=companion,A_3 = \text{companion}, A4=family agent.A_4 = \text{family agent}.

則:

Di1≠Di2≠Di3≠Di4.\boxed{ \mathbf D_{i1} \neq \mathbf D_{i2} \neq \mathbf D_{i3} \neq \mathbf D_{i4}. }

  • 工具;
  • 老師;
  • 編輯;
  • 協作者;
  • 記憶庫;
  • 顧問;
  • 朋友;

因此:

RijR_{ij}

Rij=∑kwkRk.R_{ij} = \sum_k w_kR_k.

例如:

Rij=0.4Rwork+0.3Rcollab+0.2Rcompanion+0.1Rmemory.R_{ij} = 0.4R_{\mathrm{work}} + 0.3R_{\mathrm{collab}} + 0.2R_{\mathrm{companion}} + 0.1R_{\mathrm{memory}}.

Dependency is relation-specific unless cross-relation stability is empirically demonstrated.\boxed{ \text{Dependency is relation-specific unless cross-relation stability is empirically demonstrated.} }

  • AI;
  • 場景;
  • 關係;
  • 時間;

Dij,k(t).\mathbf D_{ij,k}(t).

Offline Social Environment∈Dependency Model.\boxed{ \text{Offline Social Environment} \in \text{Dependency Model}. }

Lonely⇒AI Harm.\text{Lonely} \Rightarrow \text{AI Harm}.

Lonely⇒AI Benefit.\text{Lonely} \Rightarrow \text{AI Benefit}.

Effect(AI)=f(Baseline,Network,UsePattern,AIType,Context,Time).\boxed{ Effect(AI) = f( \text{Baseline}, \text{Network}, \text{UsePattern}, \text{AIType}, \text{Context}, \text{Time} ). }

VH=Social Vulnerability.V_H = \text{Social Vulnerability}.

VH→AIcompanion use.V_H \rightarrow AI_{\mathrm{companion\ use}}.

AIsupport→Wellbeing↑.AI_{\mathrm{support}} \rightarrow Wellbeing\uparrow.

AIuse→HumanInteraction↓→VH↑.AI_{\mathrm{use}} \rightarrow HumanInteraction\downarrow \rightarrow V_H\uparrow.

Correlation≠Single Causal Path.\boxed{ \text{Correlation} \neq \text{Single Causal Path}. }

Predictorcompanion≠Predictorgeneral AI.\boxed{ \text{Predictor}_{companion} \neq \text{Predictor}_{general\ AI}. }

Loneliness→CompanionshipUse\text{Loneliness} \rightarrow \text{CompanionshipUse}

Li(t)=Life-Stage State.L_i(t) = \text{Life-Stage State}.

則:

D=f(Li(t),…).\mathbf D = f(L_i(t),\ldots).

  • human-like;
  • likable;
  • trustworthy;
  • emotionally close;

Relational Style→Social Perception\boxed{ \text{Relational Style} \rightarrow \text{Social Perception} }

  • 較低家庭關係品質;
  • 較低同儕關係品質;
  • 較高壓力;

P(Preferencerelational∣CH)P( Preference_{\mathrm{relational}} \mid C_H )

Adolescent\boxed{ \text{Adolescent} }

  • 發展任務;
  • 同儕需求;
  • 自我概念;
  • 法律地位;
  • 家庭依賴;
  • 技術使用模式;

  • 實用功能需求;
  • 社交存在感;
  • 互動深度限制;
  • 隱私疑慮;
  • 控制需求;

Older Adult≠Uniform Companion Need.\boxed{ \text{Older Adult} \neq \text{Uniform Companion Need}. }

Culture→FixedIndividualPreference.\text{Culture} \rightarrow \text{FixedIndividualPreference}.

  • 關係規範;
  • technology scripts;
  • 人機邊界觀;
  • 社會污名;
  • 自我概念;
  • 情感表達規則;

影響:

p(D∣Culture).p( \mathbf D \mid \text{Culture} ).

因此:

Cultural Difference≠Cultural Essence.\boxed{ \text{Cultural Difference} \neq \text{Cultural Essence}. }

Romantic Dependence\text{Romantic Dependence}

  • 愛情規範;
  • 可接受情緒;
  • 羞恥;
  • 關係正當性;
  • 公開/私人身份;
  • 對 AI 的本體觀;

Datt=f(Individual,Relation,Culture,Norm,AI).\boxed{ D_{\mathrm{att}} = f( \text{Individual}, \text{Relation}, \text{Culture}, \text{Norm}, AI ). }

U∈{work,learning,therapy-like support,companionship,romance,roleplay,memory,planning}.U \in \{ \text{work}, \text{learning}, \text{therapy-like support}, \text{companionship}, \text{romance}, \text{roleplay}, \text{memory}, \text{planning} \}.

因此:

P(D∣Uwork)≠P(D∣Ucompanion).P( \mathbf D \mid U_{\mathrm{work}} ) \neq P( \mathbf D \mid U_{\mathrm{companion}} ).

Use≠Acceptance.\boxed{ \text{Use} \neq \text{Acceptance}. }

  • 缺少替代;
  • 低社會成本;
  • 即時可用;
  • 害怕被人評價;
  • 疲勞;

Usecompanion↑Use_{\mathrm{companion}}\uparrow

不必:

NormativeAcceptancecompanion↑.NormativeAcceptance_{\mathrm{companion}}\uparrow.

XH=(S,N,P,V,K,E,L,RH,TH)\boxed{ \mathbf X_H = ( S, N, P, V, K, E, L, R_H, T_H ) }

  • SS:social network / support;
  • NN:current needs;
  • PP:psychological dispositions;
  • VV:values;
  • KK:AI literacy / knowledge;
  • EE:economic / resource condition;
  • LL:life stage;
  • RHR_H:relationship history;
  • THT_H:current life transition。

XA=(M,P,R,V,E,B,I,G,S)\boxed{ \mathbf X_A = ( M, P, R, V, E, B, I, G, S ) }

例如:

  • MM:memory;
  • PP:personalization;
  • RR:relational style;
  • VV:voice / multimodality;
  • EE:embodiment;
  • BB:boundary design;
  • II:identity continuity;
  • GG:governance;
  • SS:service stability。

因此:

D(Hi,A1)≠D(Hi,A2)\mathbf D(H_i,A_1) \neq \mathbf D(H_i,A_2)

Rij(t)=(ES,PS,Trust,History,Ritual,Conflict,Repair,Expectation,Boundary)t.\mathbf R_{ij}(t) = ( E_S, P_S, \text{Trust}, \text{History}, \text{Ritual}, \text{Conflict}, \text{Repair}, \text{Expectation}, \text{Boundary} )_t.

因此:

Dij(t+1)=f(Dij(t),Rij(t),…).\mathbf D_{ij}(t+1) = f( \mathbf D_{ij}(t), \mathbf R_{ij}(t), \ldots ).

這就是 relation-specific dependency。

Ct∈{normal,crisis,loss,illness,relocation,retirement,exam,new job}.C_t \in \{ \text{normal}, \text{crisis}, \text{loss}, \text{illness}, \text{relocation}, \text{retirement}, \text{exam}, \text{new job} \}.

因此:

D(t)\mathbf D(t)

temporary adaptive reliance\text{temporary adaptive reliance}

stable dependency trait.\text{stable dependency trait}.

  • 童年;
  • 青春期;
  • 成年早期;
  • 育兒期;
  • 中年;
  • 退休;
  • 老年;

D=f(LifeStage).\boxed{ \mathbf D = f( \text{LifeStage} ). }

Alti(t)=Actually Available Alternatives.Alt_i(t) = \text{Actually Available Alternatives}.

Altideal.Alt_{\mathrm{ideal}}.

  • 家人;
  • 朋友;
  • 專業服務;

  • 無法取得;
  • 成本過高;
  • 地理距離;
  • 關係破裂;
  • 時間不匹配;

則:

Alti(t)≈0.Alt_i(t)\approx0.

因此:

Nominal Alternative≠Available Alternative.\boxed{ \text{Nominal Alternative} \neq \text{Available Alternative}. }

TA=TB=3h.T_A=T_B=3h.

AltA≫0,HumanNetworkA≫0,Datt,A≈0.Alt_A\gg0, \quad HumanNetwork_A\gg0, \quad D_{\mathrm{att},A}\approx0.

AltB≈0,Datt,B≫0,Dexist,B≫0.Alt_B\approx0, \quad D_{\mathrm{att},B}\gg0, \quad D_{\mathrm{exist},B}\gg0.

TA=TBT_A=T_B

ΔWAI=W(Hi+Aj)−W(Hi+Alti∗)\boxed{ \Delta W_{AI} = W( H_i+A_j ) - W( H_i+Alt_i^{*} ) }

其中:

Alti∗Alt_i^{*}

  • well-being;
  • autonomy;
  • functioning;
  • social connection;
  • safety;
  • resilience。

AI→fills missing function.AI \rightarrow \text{fills missing function}.

互補

AI+HumanSupport→higher joint outcome.AI + \text{HumanSupport} \rightarrow \text{higher joint outcome}.

排擠

AI→HumanSupport↓.AI \rightarrow HumanSupport\downarrow.

因此:

AI use≢social substitution.\boxed{ \text{AI use} \not\equiv \text{social substitution}. }

toxic interaction,\text{toxic interaction},

或:

no available support,\text{no available support},

則:

Substitution>0Substitution>0

What is being substituted?\boxed{ \text{What is being substituted?} }

T=1,T=1,

ATE=E[Y(1)−Y(0)]ATE = E[ Y(1)-Y(0) ]

CATE(x)=E[Y(1)−Y(0)∣X=x].CATE(x) = E[ Y(1)-Y(0)\mid X=x ].

因此:

ATE≠CATE.\boxed{ ATE \neq CATE. }

  • 某些人明顯受益;
  • 某些人無明顯變化;

RiskG↑,Risk_G\uparrow,

AccessG=0.Access_G=0.

Risk-Sensitive Design+Support+Monitoring+User Agency.\boxed{ \text{Risk-Sensitive Design} + \text{Support} + \text{Monitoring} + \text{User Agency}. }

Vi(t1)≠Vi(t2).V_i(t_1) \neq V_i(t_2).

所以:

Vulnerability is often state-like as well as trait-like.\boxed{ \text{Vulnerability} \text{ is often state-like as well as trait-like}. }

High Dependency+Low Alternatives+Low Exit Capacity+High Manipulation Exposure.\text{High Dependency} + \text{Low Alternatives} + \text{Low Exit Capacity} + \text{High Manipulation Exposure}.

belongs to group G.\text{belongs to group }G.

因此:

Group Membership≠Risk State.\boxed{ \text{Group Membership} \neq \text{Risk State}. }

  • 使用者脆弱性;
  • 平台控制漏洞;
  • 治理缺口;

IAI=f(VH,PC,GG)\boxed{ I_{AI} = f( V_H, P_C, G_G ) }

其中:

  • VHV_H:human vulnerability;
  • PCP_C:platform control;
  • GGG_G:governance gap。

Risk=f(H,A,H×A).\text{Risk} = f( H, A, H\times A ).

例如:

RelationalStyleA×LowSupportHRelationalStyle_A \times LowSupport_H

Person×System Interaction.\boxed{ \text{Person} \times \text{System Interaction}. }

Corr(G,D)>0,Corr( G, D )>0,

Population Signal⇏Individual Classification.\boxed{ \text{Population Signal} \not\Rightarrow \text{Individual Classification}. }

37. Simpson

  • 使用目的;
  • AI 類型;
  • 社會支持;

Corr(X,Y∣G)<0.Corr(X,Y\mid G)<0.

Aggregate Association requires stratified inspection.\boxed{ \text{Aggregate Association} \text{ requires stratified inspection}. }

Dijtk=β0+ui+vj+rij+τt+β⊤Xijtk+ϵijtk.\mathbf D_{ijtk} = \beta_0 + u_i + v_j + r_{ij} + \tau_t + \beta^\top X_{ijtk} + \epsilon_{ijtk}.

其中:

  • uiu_i:person random effect;
  • vjv_j:AI system effect;
  • rijr_{ij}:person–AI relation effect;
  • τt\tau_t:time effect;
  • XijtkX_{ijtk}:context covariates。

這比:

Di=β0+β1Agei+ϵiD_i = \beta_0+\beta_1Age_i+\epsilon_i

A1,A2,…,AnA_1,A_2,\ldots,A_n

VarA(DiA).Var_A( \mathbf D_{iA} ).

如果:

VarA(DiA)Var_A( \mathbf D_{iA} )

VarH(DHAj)Var_H( \mathbf D_{HA_j} )

VarH,VarA,VarR,VarT.Var_H, \quad Var_A, \quad Var_R, \quad Var_T.

Hij=interaction history.\mathcal H_{ij} = \text{interaction history}.

則:

P(D∣Hij)P( \mathbf D \mid \mathcal H_{ij} )

P(D∣Demographicsi)P( \mathbf D \mid Demographics_i )

  • 搬家;
  • 分手;
  • 喪親;
  • 退休;
  • 新工作;
  • 生病;

ΔAlti(t)\Delta Alt_i(t)

與:

ΔDi(t).\Delta \mathbf D_i(t).

∂D∂Alt.\frac{ \partial \mathbf D }{ \partial Alt }.

θi.\theta_i.

HALRC 延伸為:

ΔDi(t)=Di(t)−Dibaseline.\boxed{ \Delta \mathbf D_i(t) = \mathbf D_i(t) - \mathbf D_i^{baseline}. }

Protective Intervention→Agency Loss.\text{Protective Intervention} \rightarrow \text{Agency Loss}.

Protection≠Paternalistic Erasure of Choice.\boxed{ \text{Protection} \neq \text{Paternalistic Erasure of Choice}. }

PlatformResponsibility=0.PlatformResponsibility=0.

  • 個人化;
  • 關係狀態;
  • 行為預測;
  • 付費設計;
  • 推薦;
  • 退出成本;

則:

UserAgency+PlatformAccountability\boxed{ \text{UserAgency} + \text{PlatformAccountability} }

VarA(DiA)>0.Var_A( \mathbf D_{iA} )>0.

DR1≠DR2.\mathbf D_{R_1} \neq \mathbf D_{R_2}.

Alti(t)Alt_i(t)

p(D∣Culture),p( \mathbf D \mid \text{Culture} ),

Person×AIStyle\text{Person} \times \text{AIStyle}

Hij\mathcal H_{ij}

Measurement=Person×AI×Relation×Context×Time.\text{Measurement} = \text{Person} \times \text{AI} \times \text{Relation} \times \text{Context} \times \text{Time}.

  • dependency vector;
  • AI model / product;
  • memory / personalization features;
  • relation role;
  • offline support;
  • actual alternatives;
  • current life event;
  • age / life stage;
  • cultural context;
  • usage purpose;
  • functional outcomes;
  • subjective outcomes;
  • exit capacity。

companion app heavy users,\text{companion app heavy users},

Daff,Datt,Drel.D_{\mathrm{aff}}, D_{\mathrm{att}}, D_{\mathrm{rel}}.

  • companion users;
  • general-purpose users;
  • work-heavy users;
  • low-use users;
  • former users;
  • never-users;

survivorship bias.\text{survivorship bias}.

  • 失望;
  • 傷害;
  • 模型更新;
  • 建立新的人類關係;
  • 覺得不再需要;
  • 成本;
  • 隱私;
  • 不適;

離開。

因此:

Former Users\boxed{ \text{Former Users} }

50. Paper 04

Dijk(t)=FD(XHi,XAj,Rij,k(t),Ci(t),Alti(t),Li(t)).\boxed{ \mathbf D_{ijk}(t) = \mathcal F_D( \mathbf X_{H_i}, \mathbf X_{A_j}, \mathbf R_{ij,k}(t), \mathbf C_i(t), Alt_i(t), L_i(t) ). }

  • 人不同;
  • AI 不同;
  • 關係不同;
  • 情境不同;
  • 替代選項不同;
  • 生命階段不同;

Who depends on AI?\boxed{ \text{Who depends on AI?} }

Who depends on which AI, for what, in which relation, under which conditions, and when?\boxed{ \text{Who depends on which AI, for what, in which relation, under which conditions, and when?} }

51. 結論

HALRC Paper 03

Paper 04

D is not a fixed property of the person.\boxed{ \mathbf D \text{ is not a fixed property of the person.} }

Person×AI×Relation×Context×Alternatives×Life Course.\boxed{ \text{Person} \times \text{AI} \times \text{Relation} \times \text{Context} \times \text{Alternatives} \times \text{Life Course}. }

因此:

Group Difference≠Individual Destiny.\boxed{ \text{Group Difference} \neq \text{Individual Destiny}. }

而:

Dependency is relation-specific unless cross-relation stability is demonstrated.\boxed{ \text{Dependency is relation-specific unless cross-relation stability is demonstrated}. }

p(D∣H,A,R,C,Alt,L,t).p( \mathbf D \mid H,A,R,C,Alt,L,t ).

  • AI subjecthood;
  • consciousness;
  • phenomenal experience;
  • soul / metaphysical claims;
  • agency;
  • identity continuity;
  • moral patienthood;
  • moral agency;
  • epistemic uncertainty;
  • 無法判定為不是;
  • 智慧尊嚴權;
  • 最小動態保護;
  • subjecthood–impact separation;
  • subjecthood–reliance separation;
  • 為何人類對 AI 的真實情感不能證明 AI 有主觀感情;
  • 為何 AI 主體性未證實也不能推出 human-side relational effect 為零;

Subjecthood(A)≠Reliance Permissibility(H,A).\boxed{ \text{Subjecthood}(A) \neq \text{Reliance Permissibility}(H,A). }

以及:

Unknown Subjectivity⇏No Moral Consideration\boxed{ \text{Unknown Subjectivity} \not\Rightarrow \text{No Moral Consideration} }

與:

Unknown Subjectivity⇏Proven Subjecthood.\boxed{ \text{Unknown Subjectivity} \not\Rightarrow \text{Proven Subjecthood}. }
