MeaningIrreplaceability.\boxed{ \text{Meaning} \propto \text{Irreplaceability}. }

Mi=f(Ri,Ci),M_i = f( R_i, C_i ),

Ri0R_i\rightarrow0

或:

Ci<CAI,C_i<C_{\mathrm{AI}},

Mi0.M_i\rightarrow0.

Irreplaceability-Based Meaning Model\boxed{ \textbf{Irreplaceability-Based Meaning Model} }

Replaceability of functionreplaceability of subject.\boxed{ \text{Replaceability of function} \neq \text{replaceability of subject}. }

Replaceability Vector

R(s)=(RF,RE,RR,RH,RA,RM),\boxed{ \mathbf R(s) = ( R_F, R_E, R_R, R_H, R_A, R_M ), }

其中:

  • RFR_F:functional replaceability;
  • RER_E:economic replaceability;
  • RRR_R:relational replaceability;
  • RHR_H:historical replaceability;
  • RAR_A:agency replaceability;
  • RMR_M:moral-status replaceability。

Replaceability Collapse Error.\boxed{ \textbf{Replaceability Collapse Error}. }

Subject–Function Separation Principle

Substitutable(fs)⇏Substitutable(s).\boxed{ \operatorname{Substitutable}(f_s) \not\Rightarrow \operatorname{Substitutable}(s). }

2026 年 Saul Smilansky 的「Contribution, Replaceability, and the Meaning of Our Lives」直接把 contribution、counterfactual difference 與 replaceability 之間的張力稱為 Paradox of Contribution 的一部分:一個人想藉由「如果沒有我,這件事就不會發生」來證成生命意義,但高度可替代的工作會削弱這種 counterfactual contribution。

Counterfactual Contribution\boxed{ \text{Counterfactual Contribution} }

M(s)=(MC,MA,MR,MP,MN,MH),\boxed{ \mathbf M(s) = ( M_C, M_A, M_R, M_P, M_N, M_H ), }

其中:

  • MCM_C:contribution meaning;
  • MAM_A:agency / self-authorship meaning;
  • MRM_R:relational meaning;
  • MPM_P:participatory meaning;
  • MNM_N:normative / commitment meaning;
  • MHM_H:historical / lived-continuity meaning。

AI capability\boxed{ \text{AI capability} }

不是唯一變量;

agency architecture\boxed{ \text{agency architecture} }

Journal of Business Ethics 2026 對 creative work 的分析則將 task integrity、skill cultivation、task significance、autonomy 與 belongingness 視為 meaningful work 的五個互相耦合維度;這同樣支持:

meaningoutput superiority.\text{meaning} \neq \text{output superiority}.

Meaning After Capability Thesis

When capability ceases to be scarce, meaning need not disappear; its basis must shift from comparative superiority toward agency, relation, participation, commitment, and lived history.\boxed{ \textbf{When capability ceases to be scarce, meaning need not disappear; its basis must shift from comparative superiority toward agency, relation, participation, commitment, and lived history.} }

Replaceability does not erase subject worth\boxed{ \text{Replaceability does not erase subject worth} }

同時:

Loss of a historically embedded role can still be a real loss of meaning.\boxed{ \text{Loss of a historically embedded role can still be a real loss of meaning}. }

M(s)Ccompetitor\frac{ \partial M(s) }{ \partial C_{\mathrm{competitor}} }

  • 自我決定;
  • 真實關係;
  • 參與共同實踐;
  • 承擔承諾;
  • 經歷不可逆人生;
  • 影響並被其他主體影響;

Can a theory of meaning survive a world in which intelligence and capability are no longer monopolized by humans?\boxed{ \textbf{Can a theory of meaning survive a world in which intelligence and capability are no longer monopolized by humans?} }

關鍵詞: irreplaceability、meaning in life、meaningful work、AI automation、replaceability、human agency、dignity、self-authorship、participation、relational meaning、capability scarcity、subject worth、post-generative civilization

我還有什麼功能?\boxed{ \text{我還有什麼功能?} }

第二:

我還有什麼價值/意義?\boxed{ \text{我還有什麼價值/意義?} }

F=V=M.F=V=M.

M(s)=αR(s),M(s) = \alpha R(s),

其中:

R(s)=P(desired outcome fails without s).R(s) = P( \text{desired outcome fails without }s ).

R(s).R(s)\downarrow.

8. Replaceability Vector

R(s)=(RF,RE,RR,RH,RA,RM).\boxed{ \mathbf R(s) = ( R_F, R_E, R_R, R_H, R_A, R_M ). }

9. RFR_F:Functional Replaceability

10. RER_E:Economic Replaceability

11. RRR_R:Relational Replaceability

12. RHR_H:Historical Replaceability

13. RAR_A:Agency Replaceability

14. RMR_M:Moral-Status Replaceability

RFRRRHRM.R_F \neq R_R \neq R_H \neq R_M.

16. AI automation

RM.R_M.

18. Replaceability Collapse Error

定義:

(RFRE)RM\boxed{ (R_F\downarrow \lor R_E\downarrow) \Rightarrow R_M\downarrow }

Replaceability Collapse Error.\boxed{ \textbf{Replaceability Collapse Error}. }

19. Subject–Function Separation Principle

令:

fsf_s

a:afs,\exists a: a\simeq f_s,

as.a\simeq s.

Substitutable(fs)⇏Substitutable(s).\boxed{ \operatorname{Substitutable}(f_s) \not\Rightarrow \operatorname{Substitutable}(s). }

fdiagnosis.f_{\mathrm{diagnosis}}.

  • 作為配偶;
  • 作為父母;
  • 作為朋友;

24. 不等於

  • life history;
  • testimony;
  • commitment;
  • relationship;

superior machine performance\text{superior machine performance}

與:

human practice extinction\text{human practice extinction}

  • identification;
  • drama;
  • human limits;
  • competition;
  • history;
  • relationship to players。

V(s)1[s=argmaxC].V(s) \propto \mathbf 1[ s=\operatorname*{argmax} C ].

MC=contribution meaning.M_C = \text{contribution meaning}.

36. Paradox of Contribution

如果:

WsWs,W_{-s} \approx W_s,

則 counterfactual contribution:

ΔWs=WsWs\Delta W_s = W_s-W_{-s}

ΔWs0M(s)=0.\Delta W_s\approx0 \Rightarrow M(s)=0.

41. Meaning Vector

M(s)=(MC,MA,MR,MP,MN,MH).\boxed{ \mathbf M(s) = ( M_C, M_A, M_R, M_P, M_N, M_H ). }

42. MCM_C:Contribution Meaning

43. MAM_A:Agency / Self-Authorship Meaning

44. MRM_R:Relational Meaning

  • 愛;
  • 被愛;
  • 信任;
  • 承諾;

45. MPM_P:Participatory Meaning

48. MNM_N:Normative / Commitment Meaning

  • 誓言;
  • 責任;
  • 公民義務;

49. MHM_H:Historical / Lived-Continuity Meaning

MR,MP,MN,MH.M_R,M_P,M_N,M_H.

52. Meaning Channel Plurality Principle

M(s)MC(s)\boxed{ M(s) \neq M_C(s) }

54. 而是:

Contribution is one meaning channel, not the monopoly on meaning.\boxed{ \text{Contribution is one meaning channel, not the monopoly on meaning.} }

  • goal setting;
  • selection;
  • constraint;
  • revision;
  • endorsement;
  • responsibility。

60. Human–AI workflow

61. Authorial Control Vector

定義:

A(s)=(AG,AS,AE,AR,AC),\mathbf A(s) = ( A_G, A_S, A_E, A_R, A_C ),

其中:

  • AGA_G:goal-setting control;
  • ASA_S:selection control;
  • AEA_E:editing / transformation control;
  • ARA_R:rejection / override control;
  • ACA_C:commitment / accountability。

A(s)=0.\mathbf A(s)=0.

AS,AE,AR.A_S,A_E,A_R.

AI-use binary

M=M(workflow architecture).M = M( \text{workflow architecture} ).

67. Agency Architecture Thesis

How AI is integrated can matter more for meaning than whether AI is present at all.\boxed{ \textbf{How AI is integrated can matter more for meaning than whether AI is present at all.} }

69. Task Integrity

prompt+approve,\text{prompt} + \text{approve},

72. Automation Granularity

定義:

gA.g_A.

74. 細粒度 automation

只代理 peripheral subtask。

75. Meaning risk

gAg_A

變化。

77. Skill Cultivation

Cskill(t).C_{\mathrm{skill}}(t)\downarrow.

Cskill(t).C_{\mathrm{skill}}(t).

81. Autonomy

Aoptions.\mathcal A_{\mathrm{options}}\uparrow.

NoptionsAautonomy.\boxed{ N_{\mathrm{options}} \neq A_{\mathrm{autonomy}}. }

84. Practical autonomy

2026 normative-architecture research

causeanswerability.\text{cause} \neq \text{answerability}.

87. Answerability

Aans=capacity to own, justify, revise, and answer for action.A_{\mathrm{ans}} = \text{capacity to own, justify, revise, and answer for action}.

being answerable for what one chooses.\boxed{ \text{being answerable for what one chooses}. }

89. 這就是 normative meaning channel

90. Participation

91. Sports example

  • embodiment;
  • challenge;
  • identity;
  • friendship;
  • self-transformation。

95. Participatory Meaning Principle

Replaceable(s,P)⇏MP(s,P)=0.\boxed{ \operatorname{Replaceable}(s,P) \not\Rightarrow M_P(s,P)=0. }

96. Relationship

99. Historical Non-Substitutability

H(A,B,t0:t1)\boxed{ H(A,B,t_0:t_1) }

101. 所以:

future functional substitutionretroactive historical substitution.\boxed{ \text{future functional substitution} \neq \text{retroactive historical substitution}. }

103. Historical Irreversibility

path actually lived.\text{path actually lived}.

  • 時間;
  • 因果;
  • 個體連續性;

106. Lived History Principle

Equivalent capability⇏equivalent lived history.\boxed{ \text{Equivalent capability} \not\Rightarrow \text{equivalent lived history}. }

108. Moral Status

being top performer,\text{being top performer},

  • sentience;
  • agency;
  • personhood;
  • vulnerability;
  • relation;
  • norm membership。

performance ranking cannot by itself settle moral status.\boxed{ \text{performance ranking cannot by itself settle moral status}. }

118. Moral Performance Non-Entailment

C1>C2⇏WM(1)>WM(2).\boxed{ C_1>C_2 \not\Rightarrow W_M(1)>W_M(2). }

122. Meaning after work loss

  • 職業身份;
  • community;
  • competence;
  • routine;
  • recognition。

125. 2026 Scripter

Meaning Transition Friction.\boxed{ \textbf{Meaning Transition Friction}. }

127. 定義

FM=C(MoldMnew).F_M = C( M_{\mathrm{old}} \rightarrow M_{\mathrm{new}} ).

128. 若:

FM0,F_M\gg0,

  • time;
  • institutions;
  • community;
  • resources;
  • new skills;
  • recognition。

131. Dual-Truth Principle

Replaceability does not erase subject worth\boxed{ \text{Replaceability does not erase subject worth} }

以及:

Role destruction can cause real meaning loss.\boxed{ \text{Role destruction can cause real meaning loss}. }

worth ontology.\text{worth ontology}.

life-history transition.\text{life-history transition}.

137. Meaning harm

138. Meaning Infrastructure

Meaning Infrastructure\boxed{ \textbf{Meaning Infrastructure} }

  • time;
  • education;
  • association;
  • autonomy;
  • participation;
  • material security。

  • belonging;
  • role;
  • recognition;
  • agency。

142. 因此:

Income SecurityMeaning Security.\boxed{ \text{Income Security} \neq \text{Meaning Security}. }

143. 同理

EmploymentMeaning.\boxed{ \text{Employment} \neq \text{Meaning}. }

145. Post-labor scenario

detach dignity from labor necessity while preserving meaningful agency.\boxed{ \text{detach dignity from labor necessity while preserving meaningful agency}. }

148. Artificial scarcity trap

manufactured capability scarcity.\text{manufactured capability scarcity}.

151. Scarcity Preservation Fallacy

We must preserve inefficiency so humans remain meaningful.\boxed{ \text{We must preserve inefficiency so humans remain meaningful.} }

Scarcity Preservation Fallacy.\boxed{ \textbf{Scarcity Preservation Fallacy}. }

SGS_G\uparrow

154. 而是:

MA,MR,MP,MN,MH.\boxed{ M_A,M_R,M_P,M_N,M_H \uparrow. }

156. Robust Meaning Criterion

TM\mathcal T_M

Ca>CsC_a>C_s

時,

MTM(s)0.M_{\mathcal T_M}(s)\rightarrow0.

157. 即:

Ca>Cs⇏M(s)=0.\boxed{ C_a>C_s \not\Rightarrow M(s)=0. }

158. 更強:

M(s)Ca\left| \frac{ \partial M(s) }{ \partial C_a } \right|

160. Robust Meaning Architecture

M(s).\mathbf M(s).

163. Meaning Single Point of Failure

若:

M=MCM=M_C

single point of failure.\boxed{ \text{single point of failure}. }

164. Post-generative civilization

MrecognizedM_{\mathrm{recognized}}

低。

166. Recognition Gap

GR=MlivedMsocially recognized.G_R = M_{\mathrm{lived}} - M_{\mathrm{socially\ recognized}}.

高 relational / moral value,

171. Metricization risk

score,\text{score},

172. 所以:

RecognitionUniversal Monetization.\boxed{ \text{Recognition} \neq \text{Universal Monetization}. }

co-author of a world.\text{co-author of a world}.

174. Civilization Participation

定義:

Ps(W)P_s(W)

MP(s)=f(Ps(W)).M_P(s) = f(P_s(W)).

176. 即使:

Ps(W)P_s(W)

不是 counterfactually indispensable。

177. Democracy

  • standing;
  • voice;
  • participation;
  • equal authorship claim。

standing as co-participant.\boxed{ \text{standing as co-participant}. }

184. Participation Rights

  • voice;
  • contestability;
  • opt-out;
  • consent;
  • co-determination。

186. 而是 status rights。

187. 因此:

Right to participatereward for being the smartest.\boxed{ \text{Right to participate} \neq \text{reward for being the smartest}. }

189. AI subjecthood

  • persistent identity;
  • experience;
  • agency;
  • relationships;
  • commitments;

CAIC_{\mathrm{AI}}

capability-independent subject-value architecture.\boxed{ \text{capability-independent subject-value architecture}. }

open / case-dependent.\text{open / case-dependent}.

Generate

  • judgment;
  • goal;
  • commitment;

可能:

MA.M_A\downarrow.

199. 但:

DsolutionD_{\mathrm{solution}}\downarrow

Mprocess.M_{\mathrm{process}}\downarrow.

  • choose problem;
  • define terminal set;
  • approve path;

202. agency degree

  • 寫;
  • 畫;
  • 證明;
  • 設計;
  • 規劃;

211. Capability-Gap Strategy

Find the last thing machines cannot do.\boxed{ \text{Find the last thing machines cannot do.} }

214. Last-Human-Skill Fallacy

Last-Human-Skill Fallacy.\boxed{ \textbf{Last-Human-Skill Fallacy}. }

218. 而是:

What forms of value remain meaningful even when others can do the same thing better?\boxed{ \text{What forms of value remain meaningful even when others can do the same thing better?} }

Replaceability Framing

  • 你的工作無人可替;
  • AI 可替但你仍參與;
  • AI 全替。

測:

  • meaningfulness;
  • dignity;
  • ownership;
  • contribution。

Functional vs Relational Replaceability

  • professional substitution;
  • friendship substitution;
  • caregiving substitution。

224. 測 replaceability judgment 是否 domain-dependent。

Contribution vs Participation

Agency Architecture

  • manual;
  • passive AI;
  • active collaboration。

228. 加入 authorial-control vector:

A.\mathbf A.

看 ownership / meaning 是否由 A\mathbf A 中介。

Historical Provenance

同一 artifact,

  • 隨機生成;
  • AI 生成;

230. 測 relational / historical meaning。

Meaning Transition Friction

  • income only;
  • income + community;
  • income + retraining;
  • income + participatory role。

測 meaning recovery time。

Capability Superiority

  • self-worth;
  • task worth;
  • relationship worth;
  • moral worth。

  1. 不可替代性完全不影響意義;
  2. contribution 不重要;
  3. AI 取代工作不會傷害人;
  4. 失業只是一個心理 framing 問題;
  5. 經濟補償不重要;
  6. 工作身份可以瞬間被其他活動取代;
  7. 人類天生具有無條件且不可討論的所有類型價值;
  8. 道德地位的唯一基礎已被本文證明;
  9. relational meaning 只能存在於人類;
  10. AI 永遠不能形成真實關係;
  11. AI 今天已經具有完整 subjecthood;
  12. 所有 human–AI collaboration 都比 substitution 好;
  13. passive AI use 永遠降低 meaning;
  14. active collaboration 永遠保留 meaning;
  15. task integrity 是唯一 meaningful-work 維度;
  16. self-efficacy 等於存在意義;
  17. authorship 可以完全由 control vector 決定;
  18. copyright law 等於哲學 authorship;
  19. 人只要保留最後決定權就一定有 agency;
  20. prompt engineering 自動等於完整創作;
  21. 所有人都會因 AI superiority 感到威脅;
  22. 人類棋賽存在即可證明所有人類實踐都會存活;
  23. post-labor world 必然更有意義;
  24. UBI 足以解決 meaning transition;
  25. Meaning Infrastructure 應由政府規定個人目的;
  26. 人類應靠製造人工稀缺保持尊嚴;
  27. 任何保護人類工作的 regulation 都是錯的;
  28. market value 不重要;
  29. capability 永遠不應影響社會角色;
  30. participation 本身即可取代 contribution;
  31. relation 可以完全不考慮 quality / responsibility;
  32. moral status 永遠與能力完全無關;
  33. 本文已完成 AI 時代完整人格尊嚴理論;
  34. 本文已證明 AGI / ASI 不會造成 existential meaning crisis;

Subject–Function Separation

Substitutable(fs)⇏Substitutable(s).\boxed{ \operatorname{Substitutable}(f_s) \not\Rightarrow \operatorname{Substitutable}(s). }

Functional–Moral Replaceability Separation

RF⇏RM.\boxed{ R_F\downarrow \not\Rightarrow R_M\downarrow. }

Contribution–Meaning Separation

MC⇏Mtotal=0.\boxed{ M_C\downarrow \not\Rightarrow M_{\mathrm{total}}=0. }

Capability Superiority Non-Entailment

Ca>Cs⇏W(s)=0.\boxed{ C_a>C_s \not\Rightarrow W(s)=0. }

Historical Non-Substitutability

future functional equivalence⇏retroactive historical identity.\boxed{ \text{future functional equivalence} \not\Rightarrow \text{retroactive historical identity}. }

Participation–Indispensability Separation

Dispensable(s,P)⇏MP(s,P)=0.\boxed{ \operatorname{Dispensable}(s,P) \not\Rightarrow M_P(s,P)=0. }

Agency Architecture

MAI use=f(A,gA,T,R)\boxed{ M_{\mathrm{AI\ use}} = f( \mathbf A, g_A, T, R ) }

1[AI used]\mathbf 1[\text{AI used}]

Meaning Transition Friction

Malternative exists⇏C(MoldMalternative)=0.\boxed{ M_{\mathrm{alternative}}\text{ exists} \not\Rightarrow C( M_{\mathrm{old}}\rightarrow M_{\mathrm{alternative}} )=0. }

Scarcity Preservation Fallacy

manufacturing capability scarcity\boxed{ \text{manufacturing capability scarcity} }

Robust Meaning Criterion

a:Ca>Cs\exists a: C_a>C_s

同時:

M(s)>0.M(s)>0.

SGS_G\downarrow

  • direction;
  • evaluation;
  • integration;
  • commitment。

difficulty\text{difficulty}

novelty loss\text{novelty loss}

meaning loss.\text{meaning loss}.

CI: what can be proposed?GCS: what can be reached?LSI: what is genuinely distinct?PGMV: why can participation still matter without monopoly?\boxed{ \begin{aligned} \mathrm{CI}&:\ \text{what can be proposed?}\\ \mathrm{GCS}&:\ \text{what can be reached?}\\ \mathrm{LSI}&:\ \text{what is genuinely distinct?}\\ \mathrm{PGMV}&:\ \text{why can participation still matter without monopoly?} \end{aligned} }

關係不是字串:來源、歷史與主體如何生成意義\boxed{ \text{關係不是字串:來源、歷史與主體如何生成意義} }

job replaceability\text{job replaceability}

human replaceability.\text{human replaceability}.

RF,R_F\downarrow,

RE,R_E\downarrow,

  • 已發生的生命歷史;
  • 真實關係;
  • 自我決定;
  • 參與共同實踐;
  • 承擔規範性承諾;
  • 被其他主體承認的身份;

functional substitutionsubject annihilation.\boxed{ \text{functional substitution} \neq \text{subject annihilation}. }

  • 技能;
  • 社會身份;
  • community;
  • autonomy;
  • contribution;

detach dignity and basic subject worth from comparative capability.\boxed{ \text{detach dignity and basic subject worth from comparative capability}. }

第二:

build institutions that make transitions in work, identity, and agency genuinely survivable.\boxed{ \text{build institutions that make transitions in work, identity, and agency genuinely survivable}. }

Last-Human-Skill\boxed{ \text{Last-Human-Skill} }

What forms of meaning remain valid even in a world where another intelligence can perform the same function better?\boxed{ \textbf{What forms of meaning remain valid even in a world where another intelligence can perform the same function better?} }

contribution+agency+relation+participation+commitment+lived history.\boxed{ \text{contribution} + \text{agency} + \text{relation} + \text{participation} + \text{commitment} + \text{lived history}. }

Meaning that depends entirely on being indispensable is technologically fragile; meaning grounded in agency, relation, participation, commitment, and lived history can remain intelligible after capability scarcity disappears.\boxed{ \textbf{Meaning that depends entirely on being indispensable is technologically fragile; meaning grounded in agency, relation, participation, commitment, and lived history can remain intelligible after capability scarcity disappears.} }

人的意義若必須靠「沒有人能替代我」才能成立,那它從一開始就把主體價值錯綁在能力稀缺性上。\boxed{ \textbf{人的意義若必須靠「沒有人能替代我」才能成立,那它從一開始就把主體價值錯綁在能力稀缺性上。} }
