可供注意的認知空間已經存在。\boxed{ \text{可供注意的認知空間已經存在。} }

X={x1,x2,,xn},X=\{x_1,x_2,\ldots,x_n\},

At:Xwt,A_t:X\rightarrow \mathbf w_t,

Xt 本身也可能隨認知活動而改變。\boxed{ X_t \text{ 本身也可能隨認知活動而改變。} }

Variable Cognitive Space Conjecture  VCSC\boxed{ \textbf{Variable Cognitive Space Conjecture — VCSC} }

Attention–Space Transformation Conjecture  ASTC\boxed{ \textbf{Attention–Space Transformation Conjecture — ASTC} }

general cognitive architecture conjecture\boxed{ \text{general cognitive architecture conjecture} }

ADHD-specific theory.\boxed{ \text{ADHD-specific theory}. }

attention=topology.\text{attention} = \text{topology}.

attention may participate in transforming the effective structure of cognitive accessibility.\boxed{ \text{attention may participate in transforming the effective structure of cognitive accessibility}. }

X={x1,x2,,xn}.X=\{x_1,x_2,\ldots,x_n\}.

wt=(w1,t,w2,t,,wn,t).\mathbf w_t = (w_{1,t},w_{2,t},\ldots,w_{n,t}).

例如:

w3,tw_{3,t}\uparrow

表示:

x3x_3

Xt={a,b,c}.X_t=\{a,b,c\}.

aR1b.a\mathrel{R_1}b.

bb

bR2d.b\mathrel{R_2}d.

原來:

dXt.d\notin X_t.

現在:

dXt+1.d\in X_{t+1}.

(a,d)Rt,(a,d)\notin\mathcal R_t,

(a,d)Rt+1.(a,d)\in\mathcal R_{t+1}.

wa>wb.w_a>w_b.

而是:

XtXt+1\boxed{ X_t\neq X_{t+1} }

RtRt+1.\boxed{ \mathcal R_t\neq\mathcal R_{t+1}. }

Attention selects states\boxed{ \text{Attention selects states} }

與:

Attention participates in transforming the state space\boxed{ \text{Attention participates in transforming the state space} }

representational warpingnew cognitive topology.\boxed{ \text{representational warping} \neq \text{new cognitive topology}. }

Fixed-Space Selection Model,FSSM

Xt=X,X_t=X, Rt=R,\mathcal R_t=\mathcal R, Nt=N.\mathcal N_t=\mathcal N.

只有:

wt\mathbf w_t

Ct=(X,R,N,wt,Gt).\mathcal C_t = (X,\mathcal R,\mathcal N,\mathbf w_t,G_t).

At:wtwt+1.A_t: \mathbf w_t \mapsto \mathbf w_{t+1}.

即使:

  • 某概念突然非常顯著;
  • 某條 association 更容易被想到;
  • 某種特徵被放大;
  • 某個 decision boundary 改變;
  • 某個 task set 暫時支配行為;

只要:

X,R,NX,\mathcal R,\mathcal N

ActivationStructural Transformation.\boxed{ \text{Activation} \neq \text{Structural Transformation}. }

Ct=(Xt,Rt,κt,Nt,At,Gt)\boxed{ \mathcal C_t = ( X_t, \mathcal R_t, \kappa_t, \mathcal N_t, A_t, G_t ) }

其中:

XtX_t

是目前有效的 cognitive objects;

Rt\mathcal R_t

是關係集合;

κt(x,yGt)\kappa_t(x,y\mid G_t)

xyx\rightarrow y

的有效可達強度;

Nt\mathcal N_t

是 cognitive neighborhood system;

AtXtA_t\subseteq X_t

是當下 active set;

而:

GtG_t

Rt={RS,RC,RA,RP,RT,RG},\mathcal R_t = \{ R_S, R_C, R_A, R_P, R_T, R_G \},

  • semantic;
  • causal;
  • analogical;
  • procedural;
  • temporal;
  • goal-relative relationships。

t1,t2:Ct1≢Ct2.\boxed{ \exists t_1,t_2: \mathcal C_{t_1}\not\equiv\mathcal C_{t_2}. }

ata_t

為 attention configuration,

ete_t

為 external input,

mtm_t

為 memory state。

定義:

Ct+1=Φ(Ct,at,et,mt).\boxed{ \mathcal C_{t+1} = \Phi ( \mathcal C_t, a_t, e_t, m_t ). }

ASTC 宣稱:

Ct+1at0\boxed{ \frac{\partial\mathcal C_{t+1}} {\partial a_t} \neq0 }

at(1)at(2),a_t^{(1)} \neq a_t^{(2)},

et,mt,exposure,reward,time,e_t, m_t, \text{exposure}, \text{reward}, \text{time},

Ct+1(1)Ct+1(2),\mathcal C_{t+1}^{(1)} \neq \mathcal C_{t+1}^{(2)},

τ?\varnothing\in\tau? Xτ?X\in\tau?

Goal-conditioned cognitive neighborhood

Nt(x;θ,Gt)={y:κt(x,yGt)θ}.N_t(x;\theta,G_t) = \left\{ y: \kappa_t(x,y\mid G_t)\geq\theta \right\}.

然後:

Nt={Nt(x;θ,Gt)}.\mathcal N_t = \{ N_t(x;\theta,G_t) \}.

dynamic neighborhood system.\boxed{ \text{dynamic neighborhood system}. }

Topological=research direction,\boxed{ \text{Topological} = \text{research direction}, }

proved mathematical classification.\boxed{ \text{proved mathematical classification}. }

AtXt.A_t\subseteq X_t.

定義:

Reacht(k)(At)\operatorname{Reach}_t^{(k)}(A_t)

為從:

AtA_t

Reacht(k)(At)={y:Atky}.\operatorname{Reach}_t^{(k)}(A_t) = \left\{ y: A_t \leadsto_k y \right\}.

w(x),w(x)\uparrow,

而是:

Reacht+1(k)Reacht(k).\boxed{ \operatorname{Reach}_{t+1}^{(k)} \neq \operatorname{Reach}_{t}^{(k)}. }

future cognitive possibility space changed.\boxed{ \text{future cognitive possibility space changed}. }

ASTC-W:Weak Geometry Version

κtκt+1.\kappa_t \neq \kappa_{t+1}.

Xt=Xt+1,X_t=X_{t+1},

gain modulation.\text{gain modulation}.

ASTC-M:Persistent Accessibility Version

at+Δ=abaseline,a_{t+\Delta} = a_{\mathrm{baseline}},

但:

Nt+ΔNt.\mathcal N_{t+\Delta} \neq \mathcal N_t.

或者:

Reacht+Δ(k)Reacht(k).\operatorname{Reach}_{t+\Delta}^{(k)} \neq \operatorname{Reach}_t^{(k)}.

attentionpersistent accessibility change.\boxed{ \text{attention} \rightarrow \text{persistent accessibility change}. }

ASTC-S:Strong Structural Construction Version

RtRt+1,\mathcal R_t \rightarrow \mathcal R_{t+1},

或:

XtXt+1.X_t \rightarrow X_{t+1}.

(x,y)Rteffective,(x,y) \notin \mathcal R_t^{\mathrm{effective}},

之後:

(x,y)Rt+1effective.(x,y) \in \mathcal R_{t+1}^{\mathrm{effective}}.

z.z.

經過 chunking / abstraction:

z=f(x1,x2,,xn),z=f(x_1,x_2,\ldots,x_n),

使:

zXt+1.z\in X_{t+1}.

learning,\text{learning}, memory consolidation,\text{memory consolidation}, chunking,\text{chunking},

或:

schema formation.\text{schema formation}.

attention contributes independently to this structural construction.\boxed{ \text{attention contributes independently to this structural construction}. }

Traversal

xtxt+1,x_t\rightarrow x_{t+1},

但:

Ct=Ct+1.\mathcal C_t=\mathcal C_{t+1}.

Reweighting

κtκt+1.\kappa_t\rightarrow\kappa_{t+1}.

Expansion

XtXt+1.X_t\subset X_{t+1}.

Contraction

Xt+1Xt.X_{t+1}\subset X_t.

Rewiring

RtRt+1.\mathcal R_t\neq\mathcal R_{t+1}.

Chunk Formation

{x1,x2,x3}z.\{x_1,x_2,x_3\} \rightarrow z.

one object.\boxed{ \text{one object}. }

D={Dmath,DAI,Dpsych,Dbiology}.D= \{ D_{\mathrm{math}}, D_{\mathrm{AI}}, D_{\mathrm{psych}}, D_{\mathrm{biology}} \}.

這是 external classification。

xDmath,x\in D_{\mathrm{math}}, yDpsych,y\in D_{\mathrm{psych}},

ddiscipline(x,y)dcognitive(x,y).\boxed{ d_{\mathrm{discipline}}(x,y) \neq d_{\mathrm{cognitive}}(x,y). }

ddiscipline0d_{\mathrm{discipline}}\gg0

但:

dcognitive1.d_{\mathrm{cognitive}}\approx1.

atencodingCt+1.a_t \rightarrow \text{encoding} \rightarrow \mathcal C_{t+1}.

exposurelearningCt+1\text{exposure} \rightarrow \text{learning} \rightarrow \mathcal C_{t+1}

M0:exposureΔC,M_0: \text{exposure} \rightarrow \Delta\mathcal C,

與:

M1:attention+matched exposureΔC.M_1: \text{attention} + \text{matched exposure} \rightarrow \Delta\mathcal C.

ΔCM1>ΔCM0\boxed{ \Delta\mathcal C_{M_1} > \Delta\mathcal C_{M_0} }

learning theory\text{learning theory}

12. Working Memory

attentionWM activation.\text{attention} \rightarrow \text{WM activation}.

P(yx).P(y\mid x)\uparrow.

post-cue persistence.\boxed{ \text{post-cue persistence}. }

ΔC0,\Delta\mathcal C \rightarrow0,

13. Semantic Priming

xx

之後:

RT(yx),RT(y\mid x)\downarrow,

one faster associationtopological transformation.\boxed{ \text{one faster association} \neq \text{topological transformation}. }

  • multi-step reachability;
  • novel inference;
  • generalization;
  • neighborhood change;
  • persistent restructuring;
  • competing-model performance。

Matched-Exposure Relational Attention Experiment

Group A

注意:

individual feature.\text{individual feature}.

Group B

注意:

pairwise relation.\text{pairwise relation}.

Group C

注意:

global relational structure.\text{global relational structure}.

所以:

EA=EB=EC.E_A=E_B=E_C.

pairwise similarity,\text{pairwise similarity}, multi-step inference,\text{multi-step inference}, novel route discovery,\text{novel route discovery}, generalization,\text{generalization}, free transition trajectory.\text{free transition trajectory}.

如果:

ReachC(k)>ReachA(k)\operatorname{Reach}_C^{(k)} > \operatorname{Reach}_A^{(k)}

DpreD_{\mathrm{pre}}

與:

Dpost,D_{\mathrm{post}},

ΔD=DpostDpre.\Delta D = D_{\mathrm{post}} - D_{\mathrm{pre}}.

  • new cluster;
  • new bridge;
  • new effective dimension;
  • new inference route;

10 min,10\text{ min}, 1 day,1\text{ day}, 1 week1\text{ week}

C.\mathcal C.

如果:

ΔC(10 min)>0\Delta\mathcal C(10\text{ min})>0

但:

ΔC(1 day)=0,\Delta\mathcal C(1\text{ day})=0,

ΔC(1 week)>0,\Delta\mathcal C(1\text{ week})>0,

attention-mediated learning/consolidation.\text{attention-mediated learning/consolidation}.

U1U2U3.U_1\subset U_2\subset U_3.

N\mathcal N

N(1)N(2),\mathcal N^{(1)} \neq \mathcal N^{(2)},

Re-indexing.\boxed{ \text{Re-indexing}. }

ASTC-H1 — Attention-Dependent Reachability

a1a2a_1\neq a_2

Reach1(k)Reach2(k).\operatorname{Reach}^{(k)}_1 \neq \operatorname{Reach}^{(k)}_2.

ASTC-H2 — Persistence

attention cue 拿掉後:

ΔN>0.\Delta\mathcal N>0.

ASTC-H3 — Novel Generalization

untrained inference.\boxed{ \text{untrained inference}. }

ASTC-H4 — Fixed-Space Model Failure

固定 latent representation 加 dynamic weights:

MFM_F

MD.M_D.

即:

PredictiveAccuracy(MD)>PredictiveAccuracy(MF).\boxed{ \operatorname{PredictiveAccuracy}(M_D) > \operatorname{PredictiveAccuracy}(M_F). }

ASTC-H5 — Goal-Dependent Neighborhood

同樣的 object set:

XX

在:

G1G_1

與:

G2G_2

N(XG1)N(XG2).\mathcal N(X\mid G_1) \neq \mathcal N(X\mid G_2).

fixed representation + gain modulation\boxed{ \text{fixed representation + gain modulation} }

ASTC-SASTC\text{-S}

ΔC=0\Delta\mathcal C=0

ASTC-MASTC\text{-M}

semantic similarity\text{semantic similarity}

與:

association strength\text{association strength}

space\text{space}

  • neighborhood;
  • connectivity;
  • gluing;
  • invariants;
  • meaningful coarse-graining;

Dynamic Relational Attention Theory.\boxed{ \text{Dynamic Relational Attention Theory}. }

point value\boxed{ \text{point value} }

走向:

relational organization.\boxed{ \text{relational organization}. }

How is relational structure represented?\boxed{ \text{How is relational structure represented?} }

而 TADC 問:

How can effective relational structure change during cognition?\boxed{ \text{How can effective relational structure change during cognition?} }

所以:

Cognitive Map\text{Cognitive Map}

TADC\text{TADC}

Ct=(Xt,Rt,κt,Nt,At,Gt)\boxed{ \mathcal C_t = (X_t,\mathcal R_t,\kappa_t,\mathcal N_t,A_t,G_t) }

而:

Ct+1=Φ(Ct,at,et,mt).\boxed{ \mathcal C_{t+1} = \Phi( \mathcal C_t, a_t, e_t, m_t ). }

ΦF:(X,R,N,wt)(X,R,N,wt+1).\Phi_F: (X,\mathcal R,\mathcal N,\mathbf w_t) \rightarrow (X,\mathcal R,\mathcal N,\mathbf w_{t+1}).

ΦD:(Xt,Rt,Nt)(Xt+1,Rt+1,Nt+1).\Phi_D: (X_t,\mathcal R_t,\mathcal N_t) \rightarrow (X_{t+1},\mathcal R_{t+1},\mathcal N_{t+1}).

PredictiveGain(ΦD,ΦF)>0?\boxed{ \operatorname{PredictiveGain} (\Phi_D,\Phi_F) >0? }

VCSC\boxed{ \textbf{VCSC} }

ASTC\boxed{ \textbf{ASTC} }

Attention=Topology.\text{Attention}=\text{Topology}.

Attention may transform effective cognitive accessibility structure.\boxed{ \text{Attention may transform effective cognitive accessibility structure.} }

neighborhood,\text{neighborhood}, connectivity,\text{connectivity}, nesting,\text{nesting}, gluing,\text{gluing}, invariants,\text{invariants},

Do not call a change topological until topology adds testable structure.\boxed{ \text{Do not call a change topological until topology adds testable structure.} }

What is being selected?\boxed{ \text{What is being selected?} }

What becomes reachable because of that selection?\boxed{ \text{What becomes reachable because of that selection?} }
