- 自動化某些 task;
- 增強某些 task;
- 創造新 task;
- 增加 review task;
Human–AI Complementarity Frontier。
- Human-dominant;
- AI-dominant;
- Hybrid-dominant;
- unresolved / unstable。
3.1 Stable Complementarity
- AI reliability ceiling;
- physical embodiment gap;
- liability requirements;
- human preference for human contact;
- economics of partial automation;
- intrinsic private information。
3.2 Migrating Complementarity
3.3 Complementarity Erosion
因為 occupation、wage、demand、new tasks、regulation 都是另外的變量。
3.4 Hybrid / Posthuman Expansion
Role Security
- legal sign-off;
- identity verification;
- physical intervention;
- moral judgment;
- accountability。
Economics of Human and AI Collaboration: When is Partial Automation More Attractive than Full Automation?
- :Capability gate;
- :Reliability gate;
- :Economic gate。
九、Time Horizon 不是 Job Horizon
- task distribution 有限制;
- 99% reliability 很難測;
Anthropic Economic Index
2026 Economic Index
- cost;
- trust;
- regulation;
- integration;
- organizational inertia;
- liability;
- user preference。
十一、Complementarity Lag
- 教人;
- 放大人;
- 讓人練習更多;
Augmentation Gain
Deskilling Loss
Skill Transfer vs Skill Atrophy
Oversight Complementarity Paradox
human sign-off。
- capability complementarity;
- economic complementarity;
- institutional complementarity;
- relational complementarity;
- moral / standing complementarity。
Human Contact as Value Complementarity
- therapist;
- caregiver;
- teacher;
- leader;
- artist。
即使 AI functionally competent:
- 更習慣 AI;
- 與 AI 建立長期關係;
Absolute Advantage
- compute;
- wage;
- error;
- review;
- liability;
- latency。
Reliability-Adjusted Cost
Verification Tax
Verification Automation
Human as Responsibility Endpoint
Role Decomposition
Role Compression
Role Multiplication
- AI supervisor;
- AI auditor;
- workflow designer;
- domain integrator。
這是:
因此:
三十、New Task Creation
Acemoglu–Restrepo task framework
Task Universe Expansion
- 新產品;
- 新服務;
- 新管理問題;
Complementarity Migration
- economic value;
- social importance;
- hours;
- authority;
- meaning relevance。
Erosion Vector
Capability Erosion with Institutional Persistence
Institutional Catch-Up
Complementarity Hysteresis
- trust;
- sunk cost;
- licensing;
- culture;
Erosion Shock
Threshold Clustering
Weak-Dimension Coupling
- long context;
- visual grounding;
- planning reliability,
Complementarity Bundle
- real-world embodiment;
- reliable autonomy;
- legal legitimacy。
Persistent Bottleneck Candidate
- physical ceiling;
- information-theoretic barrier;
- economic non-viability;
- normative prohibition;
- irreducible private-state requirement。
Private Information Complementarity
Complementarity Security Fallacy
Economic Identity Trap
Human Comparative Advantage may migrate upward
Abstraction Ladder Fallacy
Task Elevator
Task Creation Rate
Automation Catch-Up Rate
human roles can continuously migrate。
complementarity erosion pressure increases。
Organization Design Matters
2026 human-centric work design paper 指出 augmentation productivity 不是 technology stock 單獨決定。
- 分配 task;
- 保留 decision rights;
- 建 interface;
- 培訓人員;
Organizational Complementarity Engineering
Human-Centric Design as Choice
Capability Necessity vs Participation Choice
- legitimacy;
- meaning;
- relation;
- education;
- distribution。
這不是 inefficiency by definition。
Human Participation Floor
Human-AI Composite Frontier
- AI assistant;
- memory augmentation;
- BCI。
Posthuman Comparative Advantage
HUMAN CAPABILITY ADVANTAGE
high low
AI capability low Stable Human Migrating / Hybrid
high Complementarity Substitution Pressure
Dynamic Complementarity Equation
- :human learning / augmentation gain;
- :new human-advantaged task creation;
- :AI repair of prior weak dimensions;
- :AI scaling into current human domains;
- :human deskilling / dependence loss。
human advantage measure expands。
Hybrid Equation
AI alone can beat badly coordinated hybrid
Human-in-loop is not automatically safer/better
需要 routing。
Complementarity Debt
Rubber-Stamp Human
False Complementarity
Effective Complementarity Test
- correctness;
- legitimacy;
- safety;
- relation;
- accountability。
否則:
Complementarity Value Vector
Complementarity Erosion vs Meaning Erosion
PGMV。
Complementarity Erosion vs Dignity
capability erosion becomes social crisis。
Current labor evidence
Anthropic 2026 labor-market analysis:
observed exposure 仍遠低於 theoretical capability exposure。
一百、No systematic unemployment increase yet
因 deployment frontier still moving。
Observed Exposure
Theoretical Exposure
Gap
Deployment Reservoir
job impact can lag capability。
Complementarity Erosion Forecast
Task-Level Forecast
Occupation titles lag technology
Role mutation
Job Persistence Fallacy
Job Disappearance Fallacy
Provider sample bias
Cross-model evidence needed
Human Skill Distribution
Capability Caste Risk
PGMV-08。
Top experts may remain complementary longer
AI can distribute expert-like capability
一百二十八、skill premium may compress or increase
empirical question。
Human Distribution Frontier
p-th percentile human。
AI crossing median not same as crossing elite
Define:
Complementarity erosion proceeds by percentile
This is more realistic.
AI heterogeneity too
different models / agents。
Ecosystem envelope from UFI-02
Production chooses best economically viable system
not average AI。
Therefore frontier competition matters
Open-source / cheap models can spread erosion after frontier proves capability
Capability Diffusion Lag
Frontier model first
cheap models later。
Economic substitution may wait for diffusion
Complementarity Erosion can accelerate after cost collapse
Price–Capability Crossing
If:
after model commoditization。
Then deployment jumps.
This connects UFI-04/05 economics
Complementarity can be institutionally preserved intentionally
society may prohibit full automation in some domains。
Example:
human judge signoff.
Then:
But this is governance, not natural law
Naive Complementarity Thesis
Strong Naive Complementarity Thesis
Weak Complementarity Thesis
Dynamic Complementarity Thesis
- Stable;
- Migrating;
- Eroding;
- Hybrid/Posthuman。
No predetermined endpoint
Why call paper Erosion?
Complementarity Erosion Hazard
Longitudinal Benchmark Needed
same task families over years。
Track:
- human distribution;
- AI distribution;
- hybrid;
- cost;
- reliability。
Current benchmark churn makes this hard
Complementarity Observatory
HACO records
Need versioned time series
Not one benchmark snapshot
HACO metric 1
Potential Complementarity Mass:
Metric 2

Role Compression Ratio
Metric 9
Oversight Effectiveness:
Metric 10
Deskilling Drift:
Empirical Program 1
repeat Xu et al. 2026 benchmark with future frontier models。
Track 8.9% region.
If region shrinks

If region stable
evidence for stable complementarity。
Experiment 2 — Routing

Experiment 14 — Relational preference

Experiment 15 — Deployment reservoir

potential complementarity region is time-varying rather than fixed across frontier-model generations.
realized complementarity gain can decline even if humans retain some unique correct answers, when routing fails.
workflows with few essential human bottlenecks can exhibit nonlinear role transitions when those bottlenecks become automatable.
partial automation remains economically optimal in some domains even after AI capability surpasses average human task performance.
human oversight effectiveness may decline on tasks where AI error cases move outside human comparative-advantage regions.
AI-assisted human capability can increase even while unassisted human capability declines.
task creation and work redesign can offset erosion of old complementarity under some organizational regimes.
hybrid/posthuman systems can expand their advantage domain despite shrinking natural-human advantage domains.
observed economic exposure lags technical exposure by a persistent but variable deployment gap.
capability complementarity and institutional complementarity can move in different directions.
If H1 fails
current complementarity may be structurally stable.
If H3 fails
role transitions more gradual than cliff model.
If H4 broadly holds
full automation may be much less common than naive capability extrapolation suggests.
If H8 holds strongly
human-AI fusion becomes more relevant than substitution framing.
Non-Claims
- AI 必然取代所有工作;
- AI 必然造成大量失業;
- AI 必然消除人類比較優勢;
- 人機互補是假的;

- game theory;

- 人類 context;
- review;
- 責任;
- 關係;
