**關鍵詞：** autonomous scientific habitat、AI-native infrastructure、self-driving laboratory、critical infrastructure AI、machine-native science、cyber-physical systems、autonomous science、scientific provenance、robotic maintenance、programmable thermodynamics

---

# 2. Autonomous Scientific Habitat Conjecture

$$
\boxed{
\mathrm{ASHC}
}
$$

$$
\text{AI replaces all scientists}.
$$

$$
\text{all laboratories become autonomous}.
$$

$$
\text{humans should be excluded from science}.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\exists
\mathcal{D}
:
V_{\mathrm{ASHC}}(\mathcal{D})
>
V_{\mathrm{traditional}}(\mathcal{D})
}
$$

其中：

$$
\mathcal{D}
$$

$$
\forall
\mathcal{D},
\quad
V_{\mathrm{ASHC}}
>
V_{\mathrm{traditional}}.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\exists
\text{ a nontrivial domain where integrated AI-native infrastructure is superior}.
}
$$

$$
\mathcal{H}_{\mathrm{human}}
$$

由：

- walkable geometry；
- breathable atmosphere；
- human interfaces；
- human comfort；

$$
\mathcal{H}_{\mathrm{machine}}
$$

- robotic accessibility；
- sensor coverage；
- low-latency control；
- thermal optimization；
- process atmosphere；
- machine-serviceable geometry。

因此：

$$
\boxed{
\text{habitat}
=
\text{operator-oriented engineered environment}.
}
$$

$$
S(t)
=
\left(
C,
\Theta,
F,
E,
L,
R,
X,
G,
A
\right)_t.
$$

其中：

$$
C
=
\text{compute state},
$$

$$
\Theta
=
\text{thermodynamic state},
$$

$$
F
=
\text{fluid / vacuum state},
$$

$$
E
=
\text{energy / exergy state},
$$

$$
L
=
\text{logistics / embodied-agent state},
$$

$$
R
=
\text{risk / reliability state},
$$

$$
X
=
\text{scientific / experimental state},
$$

$$
G
=
\text{governance state},
$$

$$
A
=
\text{authority state}.
$$

$$
u_t
=
\pi(
S_t,
G_{\mathrm{scientific}},
P_{\mathrm{policy}}
).
$$

但：

$$
u_t
$$

$$
u_t
\in
\mathcal{U}_{\mathrm{safe}}(S_t).
$$

---

## H1 — AI-Native Infrastructure Hypothesis

$$
\text{compute}
+
\text{science}
+
\text{facility physics}
+
\text{embodiment}
+
\text{governance}
$$

---

## H2 — Programmable Thermodynamics Hypothesis

$$
T(\mathbf{x},t)
$$

與 thermal coupling：

$$
G_{ij}(t)
$$

---

## H3 — Compute-Driven Infrastructure Hypothesis

$$
\{
\text{energy},
\text{performance},
\text{peak capacity},
\text{reliability}
\}
$$

---

## H4 — Reconfigurable Transport Hypothesis

$$
\mathcal{G}_{P}(t)
$$

---

## H5 — Thermodynamic Cascade Hypothesis

temperature-tagged energy / cold inventory 與 exergy-aware routing 可以減少：

$$
B_{\mathrm{dest}}
$$

或降低 lifecycle cost。

---

## H6 — Layered AI Authority Hypothesis

$$
\text{local bounded autonomy}
+
\text{deterministic safety}
+
\text{distributed supervision}
$$

---

## H7 — Machine-Native Zone Hypothesis

$$
\text{human routine-access constraint}
$$

$$
\text{precision},
\text{density},
\text{throughput},
\text{environment stability}
$$

---

## H8 — AI-Native Observation Hypothesis

---

## H9 — Integrated Habitat Hypothesis

$$
\pi_{\mathrm{joint}},
$$

$$
V(
\pi_{\mathrm{joint}}
)
>
\sum_i
V(
\pi_i^{\mathrm{isolated}}
)
$$

$$
H_1,\ldots,H_8=1,
$$

$$
H_9=1.
$$

- software complexity；
- coupling failure；
- synchronization；
- governance overhead；
- cyberattack surface；
- capital cost。

$$
V_{\mathrm{joint}}
<
\sum_iV_i.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{integration benefit exceeds integration cost}.
}
$$

---

$$
\boxed{
\mathcal{H}
=
(
\mathcal{P},
\mathcal{C},
\mathcal{E},
\mathcal{G}
)
}
$$

其中：

### Physical Plane

$$
\mathcal{P}
$$

包括：

- compute hardware；
- instruments；
- robots；
- thermal plant；
- fluid network；
- power；
- storage。

### Control Plane

$$
\mathcal{C}
$$

包括：

- deterministic control；
- MPC；
- schedulers；
- local AI；
- site AI。

### Epistemic Plane

$$
\mathcal{E}
$$

包括：

- raw evidence；
- calibration；
- reconstruction；
- hypothesis；
- provenance；
- scientific projection。

### Governance Plane

$$
\mathcal{G}
$$

包括：

- authority；
- policy；
- human oversight；
- multi-AI supervision；
- audit；
- legal / institutional constraints。

$$
\Delta P,
$$

$$
\Delta T,
$$

$$
\sigma,
$$

$$
\dot m
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{first-principles physical constraints}.
}
$$

例如：

$$
\sum E_{\mathrm{in}}
=
\sum E_{\mathrm{out}}
+
\Delta U,
$$

$$
S_{\mathrm{gen}}\ge0.
$$

AI 可以：

- estimate；
- optimize；
- plan；

$$
\boxed{
\text{vote away conservation laws}.
}
$$

---

# 10. Control Plane

$$
\begin{aligned}
L_0 &: \text{passive safety}\\
L_1 &: \text{deterministic control}\\
L_2 &: \text{local AI}\\
L_3 &: \text{site AI}\\
L_4 &: \text{federated supervisory AI}\\
L_5 &: \text{human-AI governance}
\end{aligned}
$$

所以：

$$
\boxed{
\text{ASHC is distributed by construction}.
}
$$

$$
\text{products}.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{valid evidence about unknowns}.
}
$$

$$
\text{throughput}\uparrow
$$

但：

$$
\text{traceability}\downarrow,
$$

$$
V_{\mathrm{science}}
=
f(
I_{\mathrm{gain}},
P_{\mathrm{provenance}},
R_{\mathrm{reproducibility}},
U
).
$$

---

# 12. Governance Plane

$$
\boxed{
\text{governance becomes runtime infrastructure}.
}
$$

authority：

$$
\mathcal{A}_{\mathrm{authorized}}(S_t)
$$

---

# 14. ORNL：Self-Driving Labs

$$
\text{AI}
+
\text{automated experimentation}
+
\text{advanced instrumentation}
+
\text{leadership computing}.
$$

$$
\text{design}
\rightarrow
\text{build}
\rightarrow
\text{test}
\rightarrow
\text{learn}
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{multi-laboratory autonomous-science ecosystem}
}
$$

---

# 15. Agentic X-ray Scientist：AI

2026 年 Nature Machine Intelligence 發表 agentic artificially intelligent X-ray scientist。

$$
\boxed{
\text{LLM-driven scientific agency}
}
$$

$$
\text{real scientific actuator}.
$$

---

$$
\boxed{
\text{AI observation policy}
}
$$

---

# 17. Smart Microscopy：

$$
\text{real-time analysis}
+
\text{feedback control}
+
\text{automated actuation}
$$

- inspection；
- operation；
- post-mortem analysis；
- maintenance；

$$
\boxed{
\text{robotic maintenance can be primary where human access is costly or hazardous}.
}
$$

---

$$
\boxed{
\text{AI RMF Trustworthy AI in Critical Infrastructure Profile}
}
$$

- deterministic behavior；
- explainability；
- graceful degradation；
- fail-safe operation；
- adversarial robustness；
- rigorous testing, evaluation, validation and verification [10][11]。

$$
\boxed{
\text{AI + critical physical infrastructure}
}
$$

$$
\text{components exist}.
$$

$$
\text{integrated habitat exists}.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{plausible engineering conjecture}.
}
$$

$$
\text{established architecture}.
$$

---

# 21. ASHC 的必要條件 N1：Autonomous Science Must Produce Real Scientific Gain

$$
V_{\mathrm{science,auto}}
>
V_{\mathrm{science,manual}}
$$

$$
\{
I_{\mathrm{gain}},
\Gamma,
R_{\mathrm{reproducibility}},
C_{\mathrm{cost}}
\}
$$

---

# 22. N2：Autonomy Must Be Safe Under Failure

如果：

$$
P(\text{AI unavailable})>0,
$$

$$
x(t)\in\mathcal{X}_{\mathrm{safe}}.
$$

所以：

$$
\boxed{
\text{AI failure cannot imply physical catastrophe}.
}
$$

這要求 passive safety、deterministic safety 與 safe fallback。

---

# 23. N3：Local Systems Must Survive WAN Loss

$$
\boxed{
\text{ASHC fails as critical infrastructure architecture}.
}
$$

$$
C_{\mathrm{WAN}}=0
$$

時，site 能：

- safe continue；
- safe degrade；
- safe shutdown。

---

# 24. N4：Scientific Evidence Must Survive AI Replacement

$$
X_{\mathrm{raw}},
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{evidence lifetime}
>
\text{model lifetime}.
}
$$

---

# 25. N5：Machine-Native Zones Must Be Maintainable

如果：

$$
T_H\downarrow
$$

但：

$$
\mathrm{MTTR}\uparrow\uparrow,
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{robotic maintainability must be demonstrated, not assumed}.
}
$$

---

# 26. N6：Human Recovery Must Remain Possible

$$
\text{human presence}=0,
$$

$$
M_M
\rightarrow
M_H.
$$

---

# 27. N7：Integration Must Have Positive Net Value

設：

$$
V_I
=
\text{integration benefit},
$$

$$
C_I
=
\text{integration complexity cost}.
$$

$$
\boxed{
V_I>C_I.
}
$$

---

# 28. N8：AI Control Must Respect Explicit Authority

如果：

$$
\mathcal{A}_{\mathrm{authorized}}
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{autonomy requires explicit authority semantics}.
}
$$

---

# 29. N9：Observation Selection Must Be Auditable

$$
\text{what to measure},
$$

則 observation policy：

$$
\pi_O
$$

$$
p_{\mathrm{observed}}
$$

---

# 30. N10：The Facility Must Know Its Own Validity Boundary

對 autonomy system：

$$
\mathcal{D}_{\mathrm{validated}}
$$

$$
S_t
\notin
\mathcal{D}_{\mathrm{validated}},
$$

則：

$$
L_{\mathrm{autonomy}}\downarrow.
$$

$$
\boxed{
}
$$

---

---

## Architecture A — Traditional Human-Centered Facility

$$
\boxed{
\text{Human First}
}
$$

- flexible human intervention；
- familiar governance；
- lower automation CAPEX。

- human exposure；
- limited automation throughput；
- environmental disturbance；
- continuous staffing。

---

## Architecture B — Automated but Human-Serviceable Facility

$$
\boxed{
\text{Automation First, Human Maintenance}
}
$$

---

## Architecture C — Centralized AI Facility

$$
\boxed{
\text{One Central AI}
}
$$

- global coordination；
- simpler high-level architecture。

- latency；
- network dependency；
- single failure mode；
- authority concentration。

---

## Architecture D — Modular Autonomous Cells

$$
\boxed{
\text{Independent Autonomous Cells}
}
$$

- fault isolation；
- easier verification；
- modular deployment。

- low global resource utilization；
- duplicate infrastructure。

---

## Architecture E — ANCSI Federated Habitat

$$
\boxed{
\text{Local Autonomy}
+
\text{Shared Physical Infrastructure}
+
\text{Federated Governance}
}
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{Integrated Habitat}
\quad
\text{vs}
\quad
\text{Modular Autonomous Cells}.
}
$$

- autonomous；
- safe；
- machine-operated；

$$
V_{\mathrm{D}}
\ge
V_{\mathrm{E}},
$$

$$
\kappa
=
\text{cross-system coupling intensity}.
$$

當：

$$
\kappa\rightarrow0,
$$

$$
\kappa\uparrow,
$$

- compute；
- cooling；
- robotics；
- storage；
- instruments；
- logistics；

$$
\kappa^\ast
$$

使：

$$
\kappa>\kappa^\ast
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{ASHC integration threshold hypothesis}.
}
$$

---

# 34. Integration Threshold

$$
\kappa
=
w_1\kappa_C
+
w_2\kappa_T
+
w_3\kappa_L
+
w_4\kappa_X
+
w_5\kappa_E.
$$

其中：

$$
\kappa_C
=
\text{shared compute dependence},
$$

$$
\kappa_T
=
\text{shared thermal dependence},
$$

$$
\kappa_L
=
\text{shared logistics dependence},
$$

$$
\kappa_X
=
\text{shared instrument dependence},
$$

$$
\kappa_E
=
\text{shared energy dependence}.
$$

$$
J_{\mathrm{modular}}(\kappa)
$$

與：

$$
J_{\mathrm{integrated}}(\kappa).
$$

$$
\exists
\kappa^\ast:
J_I<J_M.
$$

$$
\kappa>\kappa^\ast,
$$

$$
\kappa_{\mathrm{over}}.
$$

$$
C_{\mathrm{complexity}}\uparrow\uparrow.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\kappa^\ast
<
\kappa
<
\kappa_{\mathrm{over}}.
}
$$

---

# 36. Cell-Based Architecture

$$
\boxed{
\text{Federated Cell Architecture}.
}
$$

整座 habitat 由：

$$
\mathcal{C}
=
\{
C_1,C_2,\ldots,C_n
\}
$$

- compute；
- local robot；
- local instrument；
- local safety；
- local AI。

共享：

- energy；
- thermal backbone；
- logistics；
- scientific evidence bus；
- site AI；
- governance。

$$
C_i
$$

與 site backbone 斷線，

$$
\boxed{
\text{safe isolate}.
}
$$

$$
\text{continue limited mission}.
$$

所以：

$$
\text{federation}
\neq
\text{total dependency}.
$$

---

# 38. Shared Infrastructure

$$
I_{\mathrm{shared}}
=
\{
I_E,
I_T,
I_L,
I_D,
I_G
\}.
$$

其中：

$$
I_E
=
\text{energy},
$$

$$
I_T
=
\text{thermal / fluid},
$$

$$
I_L
=
\text{logistics},
$$

$$
I_D
=
\text{data / evidence},
$$

$$
I_G
=
\text{governance}.
$$

$$
\text{one facility}
\neq
\text{one temperature}.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{multi-temperature service}
}
$$

$$
T_i=T_j.
$$

不同 cell 有：

$$
T_i^\ast.
$$

---

# 40. Scientific Evidence Bus

Evidence Bus 是：

$$
\boxed{
\text{interoperability contract}.
}
$$

- sample；
- experiment；
- instrument；
- model；
- claim；

$$
\mathcal{G}_{E}
$$

可以跨 storage backend。

---

# 41. Habitat OS

$$
\boxed{
\text{Habitat Orchestration Layer}
}
$$

$$
G_{\mathrm{mission}}
$$

$$
\{
\text{compute plan},
\text{experiment plan},
\text{thermal plan},
\text{robot plan},
\text{observation plan}
\}.
$$

---

# 42. Mission Intent

$$
I_M
=
(
G,
C,
R,
D,
P
).
$$

其中：

$$
G
=
\text{goal},
$$

$$
C
=
\text{constraints},
$$

$$
R
=
\text{risk envelope},
$$

$$
D
=
\text{deadline},
$$

$$
P
=
\text{priority}.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{what not to do}.
}
$$

---

# 43. Mission Compiler

高層 mission：

$$
I_M
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{Executable Scientific Campaign}.
}
$$

包括：

$$
\mathcal{C}_M:
I_M
\rightarrow
\{
J_C,
J_X,
J_T,
J_L,
J_O
\}.
$$

其中：

$$
J_C
=
\text{compute jobs},
$$

$$
J_X
=
\text{experiments},
$$

$$
J_T
=
\text{thermal tasks},
$$

$$
J_L
=
\text{logistics},
$$

$$
J_O
=
\text{observation tasks}.
$$

---

# 44. Mission Compiler

$$
J_i
\rightarrow
V_i
\rightarrow
E_i.
$$

即：

$$
\text{plan}
\rightarrow
\text{validate}
\rightarrow
\text{execute}.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{reasoning separated from actuation}.
}
$$

---

Scientific objective：

$$
\max I_{\mathrm{gain}}.
$$

Engineering objective：

$$
\min E.
$$

Safety objective：

$$
R<R_{\max}.
$$

因此 multi-objective problem：

$$
\min
J
=
-w_1I_{\mathrm{gain}}
+
w_2E
+
w_3C
+
w_4R.
$$

但：

$$
R
$$

$$
R_{\mathrm{hard}}
\le
R_{\mathrm{limit}}.
$$

---

Throughput

$$
\boxed{
\Gamma_{\mathrm{experiment}}
\neq
\Gamma_{\mathrm{science}}.
}
$$

$$
\text{valid information gain per resource}.
$$

---

# 47. Habitat Scientific Efficiency

$$
\boxed{
\eta_S
=
\frac{I_{\mathrm{validated}}}
{E+C_{\mathrm{resource}}}
}
$$

其中：

$$
I_{\mathrm{validated}}
$$

---

# 48. Unknown-Unknown

$$
\mathcal{M}_{\mathrm{known}}
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{unknown unknowns}.
}
$$

- novelty search；
- random exploration；
- human challenge；
- multi-model disagreement；
- serendipity budget。

- novel anomaly interpretation；
- governance；
- epistemic skepticism。

$$
\boxed{
\text{possible redistribution of scientific labor}.
}
$$

---

$$
\mathcal{G}_{E}
$$

$$
Q_{\mathrm{AI}}.
$$

$$
Q_H.
$$

所以 research agenda：

$$
\mathcal{Q}
=
\mathcal{Q}_H
\cup
\mathcal{Q}_{AI}.
$$

$$
H
$$

不因：

$$
N_{\mathrm{AI\ votes}}\uparrow
$$

- diverse model；
- challenge；
- independent reconstruction；
- safety critique；
- alternate experiment design。

$$
\boxed{
\text{truth by majority vote}.
}
$$

---

# 52. Multi-AI Scientific Adversarial Review

### Proposer AI

提出：

$$
H_A.
$$

### Critic AI

$$
E_{\mathrm{contradict}}.
$$

### Experimentalist AI

提出：

$$
a^\ast.
$$

### Provenance AI

檢查 evidence path。

最後：

$$
\boxed{
\text{experiment decides}.
}
$$

---

# 53. AI Habitat

$$
M^\ast
$$

一個 foundation model，

則：

$$
\text{model blind spot}
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{epistemic diversity}.
}
$$

包括：

- different models；
- different physical modalities；
- different algorithms；
- human review。

---

$$
C_{\mathrm{compute}}\uparrow.
$$

- high impact；
- high uncertainty；
- high irreversibility；
- anomaly。

---

# 55. Autonomy Should Scale With Reversibility

$$
\boxed{
R_{\mathrm{irreversible}}\uparrow
\Rightarrow
A_{\mathrm{autonomy}}\downarrow
}
$$

作為 governance heuristic。

例如：

### Reversible

### Expensive but Reversible

### Destructive Experiment

### Permanent Infrastructure Change

$$
\boxed{
\text{passive safety}
+
\text{deterministic protection}
+
\text{validated control}
+
\text{bounded AI}
}
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{system is not ready}.
}
$$

---

$$
\dim(S)\uparrow\uparrow,
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{state compression}
+
\text{prediction}
+
\text{planning}
+
\text{coordination}.
}
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{cryogenics is only one subsystem}.
}
$$

- adaptive environment；
- AI-native research execution；
- machine-native maintenance；
- provenance；
- resource orchestration。

$$
H_2=0
$$

$$
\mathbf{H}
=
(H_1,H_2,\ldots,H_9).
$$

$$
\mathbf{H}
=
(1,0,1,0,1,1,1,1,0).
$$

---

# 60. Strong ASHC 與 Weak ASHC

## Weak ASHC

至少：

$$
H_1,H_6,H_7,H_8
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{AI-native autonomous scientific zones are useful}.
}
$$

---

## Strong ASHC

$$
H_1,\ldots,H_9
$$

$$
H_9=1.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{integrated habitat-level orchestration is superior}.
}
$$

$$
\text{Weak ASHC is increasingly plausible}.
$$

Strong ASHC

$$
\boxed{
\text{each stage should be testable with bounded AI}.
}
$$

例如：

- MPC；
- vision model；
- LLM agent；
- planner；
- anomaly detector；
- robotic controller。

$$
\mathcal{I}
=
\{
I_{\mathrm{deterministic}},
I_{\mathrm{optimization}},
I_{\mathrm{ML}},
I_{\mathrm{LLM}},
I_{\mathrm{human}}
\}.
$$

$$
I_{\mathrm{one\ model}}
$$

Digital Habitat

$$
\boxed{
\text{Digital Habitat}
}
$$

包含：

- compute simulator；
- thermal model；
- fluid network；
- robot simulator；
- experiment simulator；
- governance engine；
- evidence graph。

測試：

$$
\pi_{\mathrm{modular}}
$$

vs：

$$
\pi_{\mathrm{integrated}}.
$$

---

Failure Injection

$$
\mathcal{F}
=
\{
F_{\mathrm{AI}},
F_{\mathrm{sensor}},
F_{\mathrm{network}},
F_{\mathrm{pump}},
F_{\mathrm{robot}},
F_{\mathrm{policy}},
F_{\mathrm{data}}
\}.
$$

例如：

- model hallucination；
- sensor drift；
- network partition；
- valve stuck；
- robot blocked；
- stale policy；
- calibration error。

$$
\text{fault propagation}.
$$

---

Physical Autonomous Cell

建立：

$$
\boxed{
C_1
}
$$

只有：

- small compute cluster；
- one robot；
- one instrument；
- liquid cooling；
- local AI；
- safety PLC；
- provenance store。

$$
\boxed{
\text{prove closed-loop usefulness before exotic physics}.
}
$$

---

Federated Multi-Cell Facility

建立：

$$
C_1,C_2,C_3.
$$

共享：

- compute；
- logistics；
- instrument queue；
- data；
- thermal storage。

比較：

$$
\text{independent cell scheduler}
$$

與：

$$
\text{site orchestration}.
$$

Adaptive Physical Environment

加入：

- multi-zone liquid cooling；
- thermal storage；
- dry atmosphere；
- dynamic routing；
- higher-temperature heat reuse。

Machine-Native Restricted Zone

建立：

$$
Z_M
\rightarrow
Z_R.
$$

加入：

- no routine human operation；
- robotic maintenance；
- automated purge；
- safe-entry conversion；
- remote observation。

測試：

$$
H_7.
$$

---

Cryogenic / Extreme Scientific Habitat

- $80\ \mathrm{K}$ ；
- $20\ \mathrm{K}$ ；
- $4\ \mathrm{K}$ ；
- specialized cryogenic electronics；
- vacuum-jacketed low-temperature distribution；
- quantum / cryogenic instrument。

$$
\boxed{
\text{hardest physics}
}
$$

$$
COP_{\mathrm{Carnot}}
=
\frac{T_c}{T_h-T_c}.
$$

若：

$$
T_h=300\ \mathrm K,
$$

則：

$$
COP_{80K}
=
\frac{80}{220}
\approx0.364.
$$

而：

$$
COP_{4K}
=
\frac{4}{296}
\approx0.0135.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{prove architecture before spending exergy}.
}
$$

---

Scientific Habitat Pilot

$$
\boxed{
\text{hundreds of square meters, not city scale}.
}
$$

包含：

- Human Zone；
- Machine Zone；
- Restricted Zone；
- compute cluster；
- autonomous laboratories；
- thermal backbone；
- robotic maintenance；
- AI-native observation；
- multi-cloud governance。

進行：

$$
T_{\mathrm{operation}}
\ge
12\text{ months}
$$

$$
\text{possible}.
$$

$$
\text{operationally viable}.
$$

- component aging；
- model drift；
- maintenance burden；
- human fatigue；
- network outage；
- seasonal environment；
- rare failure。

所以：

$$
\boxed{
\text{ASHC requires longitudinal evidence}.
}
$$

---

$$
\boxed{
\mathrm{ASHL}
=
\text{Autonomous Scientific Habitat Level}.
}
$$

---

## ASHL-0 — Conventional Facility

---

## ASHL-1 — Automated Facility

---

## ASHL-2 — Autonomous Cell

---

## ASHL-3 — Federated Autonomous Cells

---

## ASHL-4 — Machine-Native Zone

---

## ASHL-5 — Integrated Scientific Habitat

---

## ASHL-6 — Multi-Site Federated Habitat

$$
ASHL\text{-}5.
$$

---

$$
\boxed{
\text{integration / autonomy architecture maturity}.
}
$$

$$
ASHL\text{-}2
$$

$$
\mathbf{M}
=
(
M_S,
M_E,
M_R,
M_T,
M_H,
M_P,
M_C
).
$$

其中：

$$
M_S
=
\text{scientific value},
$$

$$
M_E
=
\text{energy / exergy},
$$

$$
M_R
=
\text{reliability},
$$

$$
M_T
=
\text{throughput},
$$

$$
M_H
=
\text{human exposure / attention},
$$

$$
M_P
=
\text{provenance},
$$

$$
M_C
=
\text{lifecycle cost}.
$$

$$
\text{experiments per hour}.
$$

---

# 76. Scientific Value Metric

$$
M_S
=
\frac{
I_{\mathrm{validated}}
}{
C_{\mathrm{resource}}
}.
$$

---

# 77. Human Exposure Metric

對 hazardous zone：

$$
M_H^{\mathrm{exposure}}
=
\int
\rho_{\mathrm{hazard}}(t)
n_H(t)
dt.
$$

$$
M_H^{\mathrm{exposure}}
\downarrow.
$$

---

# 78. Human Attention Metric

$$
A_H
=
\text{human attention load}.
$$

---

# 79. Provenance Metric

定義：

$$
P_C
=
\frac{
N_{\mathrm{scientific\ claims\ with\ complete\ evidence\ path}}
}{
N_{\mathrm{scientific\ claims}}
}.
$$

$$
P_C
$$

$$
1.
$$

---

# 80. Intervention Metric

$$
I_H
=
\frac{
N_{\mathrm{physical\ human\ interventions}}
}{
T_{\mathrm{operation}}
}.
$$

$$
I_H=0.
$$

$$
I_H^\ast
$$

使：

- safety；
- cost；
- availability；

---

# 81. Autonomy Failure Metric

$$
F_A
=
\frac{
N_{\mathrm{AI\ action\ requiring\ correction}}
}{
N_{\mathrm{AI\ actions}}
}.
$$

還需要 impact weighting：

$$
F_A^w
=
\sum_i
w_iF_i.
$$

- safety violation；

---

# 82. Graceful Degradation Metric

$$
C_{\mathrm{mission}}
\downarrow.
$$

但：

$$
R_{\mathrm{safety}}
$$

$$
G_D
=
\frac{
\Delta C_{\mathrm{mission}}
}{
\Delta R_{\mathrm{safety}}
}.
$$

---

# 83. Integration Benefit Metric

$$
\boxed{
\Delta J_I
=
J_{\mathrm{modular}}
-
J_{\mathrm{integrated}}.
}
$$

如果：

$$
\Delta J_I>0,
$$

支持 ASHC integration。

若：

$$
\Delta J_I\le0
$$

---

# 85. Stop Condition S1：Integration Does Not Pay

$$
\Delta J_I\le0
$$

---

# 86. S2：Robot Maintenance Fails Economically

若：

$$
C_{\mathrm{robot}}
>
C_{\mathrm{human}}
$$

$$
Z_N
$$

$$
Z_S.
$$

---

# 87. S3：Provenance Cost Becomes Dominant

若：

$$
C_{\mathrm{provenance}}
$$

---

# 88. S4：AI Authority Cannot Be Validated

$$
\mathcal{A}_{\mathrm{authorized}}
$$

---

# 89. S5：Human Recovery Is Not Reliable

如果：

$$
P(
M_M\rightarrow M_H
)
$$

$$
Z_N.
$$

---

# 90. S6：Cryogenic Compute Has No Net Benefit

如果：

$$
\Delta V_{\mathrm{cryo}}
\le
C_{\mathrm{cool}}
+
C_{\mathrm{transition}}
+
C_{\mathrm{wear}},
$$

---

# 91. S7：AI-Native Observation Reduces Scientific Correction Ability

若 AI projection 讓：

$$
\tau_{\mathrm{detect\ error}}
\uparrow
$$

或：

$$
P_C\downarrow,
$$

---

# 92. S8：Human Cognitive Load Does Not Improve

若：

$$
A_H^{\mathrm{AI-native}}
\ge
A_H^{\mathrm{traditional}},
$$

---

# 93. S9：Common-Mode AI Failure Dominates

若多 AI：

$$
AI_1,\ldots,AI_n
$$

仍高度 correlated：

$$
\rho_{ij}\approx1,
$$

- deterministic checks；
- physical diversity；
- independent modalities。

---

Strong ASHC

3. AI-mediated observation
4. physical-state programming

$$
\boxed{
\text{Strong ASHC should be rejected}.
}
$$

---

# 95. Weak ASHC

Weak ASHC

- AI observation

$$
\boxed{
\text{even machine-native scientific zones may remain niche}.
}
$$

---

### Evidence A

多 cell joint orchestration：

$$
\Delta J_I>0.
$$

### Evidence B

$$
T_H\downarrow
$$

而：

$$
\text{Availability}\uparrow.
$$

### Evidence C

AI-native observation：

$$
\tau_H\downarrow,
$$

且：

$$
P_C\uparrow.
$$

### Evidence D

WAN loss、model loss、robot fault 下：

$$
\text{safe degradation}.
$$

### Evidence E

longitudinal operation：

$$
T_{\mathrm{pilot}}
\ge
12\text{ months}
$$

- mandatory pressure relief；
- electrical protection；
- emergency mechanical stops；
- fire suppression trigger；
- certified radiation interlock；
- critical oxygen-deficiency protection；
- hard process limits。

$$
\text{request},
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{disable certified safety barrier}.
}
$$

---

$$
\text{offline engineering process}
$$

$$
P_{\max}
$$

需要：

- engineering analysis；
- validation；
- certification；
- human approval；
- versioned deployment。

---

# 99. Habitat Governance Constitution

$$
\boxed{
\mathcal{C}_{G}
=
\text{Governance Constitution}
}
$$

包含：

1. physical invariants；
2. safety invariants；
3. authority classes；
4. escalation rules；
5. model qualification；
6. human rights of intervention；
7. evidence requirements；
8. irreversible-action rules；
9. recovery rules。

---

# 100. Physical Invariants

例如：

$$
P<P_{\mathrm{cert,max}},
$$

$$
O_2>O_{2,\min}
$$

for human entry。

$$
T<T_{\mathrm{material,max}}.
$$

這些 invariant：

$$
\boxed{
\text{not negotiable by planner}.
}
$$

---

# 101. Epistemic Invariants

$$
\text{raw}
\neq
\text{AI-generated}.
$$

$$
\text{derived claim}
\rightarrow
\text{evidence path}.
$$

$$
\text{lossy transform}
\rightarrow
\text{explicit label}.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{scientific integrity constraints}.
}
$$

---

# 102. Human Governance Invariants

例如：

- 可要求 safe stop；
- 可 request raw evidence；

$$
\boxed{
\text{autonomy must remain governable}.
}
$$

---

Smart factory

$$
\text{produce known output}.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{produce reliable knowledge about partly unknown systems}.
}
$$

- surprise；
- negative result；
- ambiguity；
- competing hypothesis；
- re-observation。

Data center：

$$
\text{compute service}
$$

ASHC：

$$
\text{compute}
$$

- service；
- scientific reasoning；
- physical control；
- observation processing。

$$
\boxed{
\text{cognitive substrate of the facility}.
}
$$

---

SDL：

$$
\text{experiment loop}.
$$

ASHC：

$$
\boxed{
\text{experiment loop}
+
\text{facility loop}
+
\text{governance loop}
+
\text{evidence loop}.
}
$$

AI scientist

$$
\boxed{
\text{ASHC is infrastructure-first, not consciousness-first}.
}
$$

$$
\text{system performance and scientific validity}.
$$

---

$$
\mathcal{O}
=
\{
H,
AI_1,\ldots,AI_n,
R_1,\ldots,R_m,
C_1,\ldots,C_k
\}.
$$

其中：

- $H$：humans；
- $AI$：intelligent agents；
- $R$：robots；
- $C$：controllers。

因此：

$$
\boxed{
\text{operator}
}
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{distributed socio-technical control system}.
}
$$

---

$$
\text{many agents}
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{responsibility decomposition}.
}
$$

例如：

- policy owner；
- model owner；
- system operator；
- safety authority；
- scientific principal investigator；
- maintenance authority。

- architecture；
- hypotheses；
- metrics；
- falsification；
- general safety principles。

- site-specific network diagram；
- security credential；
- vulnerability；
- exact emergency override；
- hazardous inventory；
- proprietary hardware detail。

因此：

$$
\boxed{
\text{scientific openness}
\neq
\text{operational oversharing}.
}
$$

---

$$
\boxed{
\mathrm{ANCSI\ Reference\ Architecture\ v0.1}
}
$$

1. system context；
2. zone taxonomy；
3. physical plane；
4. compute plane；
5. thermal plane；
6. fluid plane；
7. robotic plane；
8. observation plane；
9. evidence plane；
10. authority plane；
11. safety plane；
12. human recovery plane；
13. digital twin；
14. test harness。

---

# 111. Reference Architecture

$$
\boxed{
\text{interfaces}
}
$$

$$
I_{\mathrm{thermal}}
$$

- capacity；
- state；
- telemetry；
- isolation；
- safety contract。

---

# 112. Hardware-Agnostic, Physics-Aware

$$
\boxed{
\text{hardware-agnostic}
+
\text{physics-aware}.
}
$$

- pressure；
- temperature；
- latency；
- geometry；
- energy。

---

# 113. Model-Agnostic, Authority-Aware

同理：

$$
\boxed{
\text{model-agnostic}
+
\text{authority-aware}.
}
$$

$$
\mathcal{Q}(M)
$$

---

# 114. Observation-Agnostic, Provenance-Aware

$$
\boxed{
\text{raw}
\rightarrow
\text{calibration}
\rightarrow
\text{derived}
\rightarrow
\text{inference}
}
$$

$$
E
=
(
t,
\text{actor},
\text{authority},
\text{state},
\text{intent},
\text{action},
\text{observation},
\text{provenance}
).
$$

$$
E_{\mathrm{facility}}(t)
$$

與：

$$
E_{\mathrm{science}}(t)
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{common or traceably synchronized time}.
}
$$

---

$$
S
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{federated state graph}
}
$$

$$
C_i
$$

故障，

campaign：

$$
\Gamma
$$

應能：

$$
\Gamma_i
\rightarrow
\Gamma_j.
$$

- sample state；
- experiment state；
- model state；
- evidence state；

---

# 119. Scientific Checkpoint

$$
\boxed{
\text{Scientific Checkpoint}.
}
$$

包括：

$$
K_s
=
(
H,
E,
S_{\mathrm{sample}},
S_{\mathrm{instrument}},
Q_{\mathrm{next}}
).
$$

$$
\text{resume}.
$$

Failover

$$
I_A
\rightarrow
I_B
$$

$$
\text{calibration equivalence},
$$

$$
\text{resolution},
$$

$$
\text{systematic bias}.
$$

---

# 121. Scientific Service Contract

$$
\boxed{
\mathrm{SSC}
}
$$

包含：

- modality；
- resolution；
- uncertainty；
- sample constraints；
- throughput；
- calibration state；
- autonomy capability。

scheduler 用 SSC 判斷 experiment placement。

---

# 122. Robot Service Contract

Robot：

$$
\mathrm{RSC}
$$

包含：

- reach；
- payload；
- precision；
- environment compatibility；
- tool set；
- recovery mode；
- autonomy level。

---

# 123. Thermal Service Contract

Thermal zone：

$$
\mathrm{TSC}
$$

包含：

$$
T_{\min},
T_{\max},
Q_{\max},
r_T,
SOC_c,
R.
$$

---

# 124. Authority Service Contract

Agent：

$$
\mathrm{ASC}
$$

包含：

$$
\mathcal{A}_{\mathrm{authorized}},
$$

$$
Z,
$$

$$
T_{\mathrm{expiry}},
$$

$$
P_{\mathrm{policy}}.
$$

$$
\text{compute as resource}.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{physical scientific capability as resource}.
}
$$

例如：

- $4\ \mathrm K$ stage；
- microscope；
- robot；
- inert atmosphere；
- beamline；
- thermal storage；

$$
\boxed{
\text{physics is not infinitely fungible}.
}
$$

Digital resource：

$$
\text{copyable}.
$$

Physical sample：

$$
\text{not necessarily copyable}.
$$

Digital workload：

$$
\text{migratable}.
$$

Cryogenic instrument：

$$
\text{location-bound}.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{scarcity}
+
\text{location}
+
\text{history}.
}
$$

---

# 127. Habitat

$$
\text{one giant robot}.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{federation of physical services and bounded agents}.
}
$$

---

# 128. Strong ASHC

- robot automation；
- AI experiment；
- liquid cooling；

Strong ASHC 要求：

$$
\boxed{
\text{cross-layer feedback}.
}
$$

例如：

$$
\text{scientific campaign}
\rightarrow
\text{compute demand}
\rightarrow
\text{thermal preconditioning}
\rightarrow
\text{instrument schedule}
\rightarrow
\text{observation}
\rightarrow
\text{next campaign}.
$$

---

# 129. Cross-Layer Feedback

$$
E_{\mathrm{AI}}
\rightarrow
E_{\mathrm{scheduler}}
\rightarrow
E_{\mathrm{thermal}}
\rightarrow
E_{\mathrm{physical}}.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{validation gateway}.
}
$$

---

# 130. Validation Gateway

對 request：

$$
r_i
$$

gateway 檢查：

$$
V_i(r_i)
=
\{
\text{schema},
\text{authority},
\text{safety},
\text{resource},
\text{state}
\}.
$$

只有：

$$
\bigwedge_jV_{ij}=1
$$

---

$$
\boxed{
\text{open-ended reasoning}.
}
$$

低層：

$$
\boxed{
\text{closed physical constraints}.
}
$$

- human accountability；
- occupational safety；
- data localization；
- environmental licensing；
- AI-specific regulation。

因此：

$$
\boxed{
\text{governance architecture must be jurisdiction-aware}.
}
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{AI autonomy does not imply scientific agenda monopoly}.
}
$$

---

$$
C(\mathbf{x},t)\uparrow
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{proposal authority}.
}
$$

與：

$$
\text{execution authority}
$$

分開。

---

$$
a\in\mathcal{A}_{\mathrm{proposal}}
$$

即使：

$$
a\notin
\mathcal{A}_{\mathrm{execute}}.
$$

所以：

$$
\boxed{
\mathcal{A}_{\mathrm{execute}}
\subset
\mathcal{A}_{\mathrm{proposal}}.
}
$$

---

# 136. Habitat

- sleep；
- schedule；
- shift；
- fatigue。

autonomous facility 可以：

$$
24/7.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{continuous state memory}.
}
$$

- sample history；
- thermal history；
- instrument drift；
- model state。

---

# 137. Continuous State Memory

若 state history：

$$
H_t
$$

- state verification；
- checkpoint；
- correction；
- provenance。

---

# 138. Habitat Scientific Memory

可分：

$$
M
=
\{
M_{\mathrm{raw}},
M_{\mathrm{derived}},
M_{\mathrm{hypothesis}},
M_{\mathrm{operation}}
\}.
$$

> Pump 3

是：

$$
M_{\mathrm{operation}}.
$$

> Sample A phase transition 可能與 vibration 有關。

是：

$$
M_{\mathrm{hypothesis}}.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{boring but measurable}.
}
$$

例如：

- three autonomous cells；
- shared cooling；
- shared robot logistics；
- local AI；
- provenance；
- WAN partition；
- safe fallback。

$$
\boxed{
\text{Independent Cells}
\quad
\text{vs}
\quad
\text{Federated Cells}.
}
$$

相同：

- hardware；
- experiments；
- workloads；
- robots。

只改：

$$
\text{orchestration architecture}.
$$

量測：

$$
\Delta J_I.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{Human-Serviceable}
\quad
\text{vs}
\quad
\text{Machine-Native}
}
$$

選一個 environment-sensitive experiment。

比較：

- stability；
- contamination；
- throughput；
- maintenance；
- human intervention。

$$
\boxed{
\text{Traditional UI}
\quad
\text{vs}
\quad
\text{Reversible AI Projection}
}
$$

$$
\tau_H,
$$

$$
P_C,
$$

$$
R_{\mathrm{error}}.
$$

---

$$
\boxed{
\text{WAN Loss + Physical Fault}.
}
$$

$$
C_{\mathrm{WAN}}=0
$$

並注入 pump / sensor fault。

測：

$$
\text{safe degradation}.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{Workload-Thermal Co-Scheduling}
}
$$

比較：

$$
\pi_{\mathrm{reactive}}
$$

與：

$$
\pi_{\mathrm{joint}}.
$$

不用 cryogenic。

先用 liquid cooling + thermal storage。

---

# 146. Strong ASHC

$$
\boxed{
\text{convergent evidence}.
}
$$

包括：

- simulation；
- prototype；
- long-duration operation；
- failure testing；
- independent replication；
- lifecycle economics；
- safety validation。

---

# 147. Independent Replication

$$
\text{organization-specific}.
$$

- lab；
- hardware；
- domain；

---

# 148. Domain Transfer Test

$$
\text{materials science}
$$

$$
\text{biotechnology}
$$

$$
\text{generalizability}
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{premature standardization}
}
$$

- evidence identity；
- safety interface；
- authority semantics；

而非：

- 固定 robot morphology；
- 固定 AI model。

---

1. evidence provenance；
2. authority / capability；
3. safety state；
4. time synchronization；
5. sample identity；
6. instrument service description；
7. thermal service description；
8. robot capability description。

$$
\boxed{
\text{a continuously operating scientific cyber-physical environment}.
}
$$

$$
\text{human}
\leftrightarrow
\text{scientific intent / governance}
$$

$$
\text{AI}
\leftrightarrow
\text{continuous planning / interpretation}
$$

$$
\text{robot}
\leftrightarrow
\text{physical action}
$$

$$
\text{instrument}
\leftrightarrow
\text{measurement}
$$

$$
\text{safety system}
\leftrightarrow
\text{hard constraints}.
$$

---

$$
\boxed{
\begin{aligned}
&\text{Scientific Intent}\\
&\downarrow\\
&\text{Campaign Planning}\\
&\downarrow\\
&\text{Authority Validation}\\
&\downarrow\\
&\text{Compute / Thermal / Logistics Preparation}\\
&\downarrow\\
&\text{Robotic and Instrument Execution}\\
&\downarrow\\
&\text{Raw Observation}\\
&\downarrow\\
&\text{Provenance-Preserving Analysis}\\
&\downarrow\\
&\text{Scientific Projection}\\
&\downarrow\\
&\text{Hypothesis Update}\\
&\downarrow\\
&\text{Next Intent}
\end{aligned}
}
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{Safety}
+
\text{Governance}
+
\text{Evidence}.
}
$$

---

$$
\boxed{
\text{science can acquire an AI-native physical execution substrate}.
}
$$

$$
\text{how to cool a computer}.
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{what kind of physical world should future AI-operated science inhabit?}
}
$$

$$
\boxed{
\begin{aligned}
\mathrm{ASHC}
=
&\ \text{AI-Native Compute}\\
+&\ \text{Programmable Thermodynamics}\\
+&\ \text{Reconfigurable Fluid / Vacuum Infrastructure}\\
+&\ \text{Thermal Storage and Exergy Routing}\\
+&\ \text{Layered Local Autonomy}\\
+&\ \text{Distributed Governance}\\
+&\ \text{Machine-Native Scientific Zones}\\
+&\ \text{Robotic Maintainability}\\
+&\ \text{Reversible AI-Native Observation}\\
+&\ \text{Evidence Provenance}.
\end{aligned}
}
$$

$$
\boxed{
\text{這個未來現在已經可以被拆成有限、可量化、可反駁的工程問題。}
}
$$

NIST 也已經把 AI in critical infrastructure 的 deterministic behavior、graceful degradation、fail-safe operation 與 TEVV 提升到正式 profile-development 問題 [10][11]。

$$
\boxed{
\text{build the smallest system that can falsify the conjecture}.
}
$$

$$
\text{autonomous laboratory}
$$

走向：

$$
\text{machine-native research zone}
$$

$$
\boxed{
\textbf{Autonomous Scientific Habitat}.
}
$$

$$
\boxed{
\mathrm{ANCSI\ Reference\ Architecture\ v0.1}
}
$$
