# Paper 02 Source Integrity Repair

**Date:** 2026-08-14
**Semantic paper version:** v0.1
**Package revision:** sourcefix1
**Repair class:** canonical-source integrity patch; no intended semantic change.

## Detected issue

One intended LaTeX token:

`\rightarrow`

had been serialized as a literal carriage-return control byte followed by:

`ightarrow`

inside the MI-4 formula.

This was an artifact-generation escape error, not an authored mathematical change.

## Repair

Replaced the single corrupted control sequence with the intended literal LaTeX source:

`\rightarrow`

No other prose, formula content, or delimiter was intentionally changed.

## Provenance

Original canonical-source SHA-256:

`ba60b9e41f33ef7304e0f4b0f9f510e263b1b292c4f04402823d1bc04ec7dcd7`

Repaired canonical-source SHA-256:

`511233a030801cd6e0357573b1d8e7c0b7fc30ded771cf4fde6ad1e89a593c2a`

The original root-owned artifact remains untouched. This repaired copy is used in the final complete-series package.

## Strengthened validation

The final series validator rejects:
- UTF-8 BOM;
- CRLF;
- bare carriage return;
- every C0 control byte except LF;
- noncanonical `\[...\]` display delimiters;
- unmatched `$` / `$$`;
- `unicode_escape` source-round-trip marker.
